I love that highway.

Those are some rough roads for sure! The frost heaves in the road are no joke! The first time I experienced them was in Upstate New York and the rental car literally went airborne!! Scared the crap out of me! Nice driving video Scott! Thanks!

Lots of people break their RVs and trailers and ruin vacations trying to go too fast on these roads. Many are overloaded already when they leave the factory.

Good to hear from you Scott. I live in far east NM, we have been under a smoke haze for about 2 weeks due to the fires in California. Those roads look like some of ours. I can't imagine taking my coach up those roads, but I would like to visit Alaska.

We drove home from Alaska. Not sure I’d choose to do that again over flying or the ferry. Vids to come.

State of Alaska built that 14 miles of really nice pavement as a test project. Whatever is different, I hope they do more of it. Tourists coming from the Canada side must think, oh this is wonderful. Then blam. They drop down into Jack Wade, LOL

That’s funny - I thought I was hitting Canadian soil already and they were trying to show us up.

@@ThisOldBus The line is right at Poker Creek/Little Gold, it's not like Alcan/Beaver Creek where the line is in between them. Canadian side of The Top usually IS better though. Road looked pretty good all the way from Chicken, sometimes it's awful. I'll be going through there again in 3 weeks. Good to see your video. :)

When I drove that route, I found that the gravel parts were smoother than the paved ones.

Less potholes for sure

If you are going to be driving lots of gravel roads carry a decent compressor and air down your tires, it really helps with the ride quality

I wonder why Alaska & Canada (Alaska Hwy) does not fix their Fckng roads ! If you have crazy glue like gorilla glue on your windshield will help the cut not to expand, use a wood spoon or something like that. We did it & worked specially at the end so it won't expand across.
