Nice! My parents were both born in the 60s but I was born in 2004. They didn't really introduce this music to me, more like I just found it myself during covid lockdowns and loved it ever since 😁

Yes Kristen..I can relate to your position...in 1967 I was 16...the teens of that time that were music lovers had a Tremendous Selection Of Great Songs And Genres Back From 63-69. My daughter was born in 1983 and you can be sure that I introduced her to these lovable winning tunes from an early age...I still can recall her singing "Bang Bang" by Sonny & Cher. Great Tunes Here. Thanks.

1967 was the year The local jukebox guy started giving me 45 rpm records. After 200 plays they would typically replace the record. My dad owned a bar so I got to hear a lot of this music..on a real juke box. There were two records that constantly got replaced. Gimme some lovin' and You've lost that loving feeling. When my dad sold the bar in '73 those two songs still had high "play counts". Those tunes by the Rascals and the Stones weren't far behind. I ended up with a few scratchy copies of Gimme some lovin'. Still love it.

They were very good, yes, also for some songs not played in that video , as 'A little bit me...', 'She', 'The girl I knew somewhere', 'Sweet young thing' , 'Saturday's child', 'Words', 'Pleasant valley Sunday', that they played in 1967 or even before, in the end of 1966, I believe. And they still did even very good songs afterwards, but I won't cite them all...

the song was also a movie with the same title as the song in America with one of the greatest actors Sidney Poitier among others including LuLu who sang the song in the movie. But for those of us who still have 45's, 33 1/3rds and cassettes and maybe an 8 Track or Reel-to-Reel, groups like these will always be remembered! And surprisingly, many young people now are actually rediscovering our musical treasured youth experience, so all is not forgotten yet! Because of my parents influence and my brother and sister enjoying some music 🎵 which I had never considered, I just listened to so many cultures from around the globe! All of this "Booming Madness" with no singing, no instruments is what I want to forget! It's just ANGRY "music!" (If one can even call it music).

Francis, I love this video. If you don't mind my saying, there is one song that I wish that you had included. I so wished that you had included "To Love Somebody" by The Bee Gees. I know there was a reason it wasn't, but I think that is the definitive version of the song. I know you have Nina Simone's version in another video, and Michael Bolton's version in yet another. Both are great versions. I know there was a reason for not having it, and I do understand that.

Who cares. I'm sure people were sick of hearing another damn Beatle song for so long. I'd gladly pick The Doors, Hendrix and Jefferson Airplane over them any time of my life! They also weren't being fair to other more deserving artists during that time like all the surfer rock, doo-wop and the more edgier fare from the late 60's by hogging up the top charts from them and they were also facing problems during that point from behind-the-scenes drama, turmoil and don't get me started on the infamous "Popular than Jesus" phrase that got redneck America all up in arms despite that it was just taken out of context.

I know this is a pop chart 100, but really, Strawberry Fields Forever should have charted! Penny Lane #42? I'm very disappointed!

Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields, my two favorite Beatles songs. Can't hear one without thinking about the other.

The Beatles get too much attention and they never got over with me very much. I think other artists deserve more attention like The Doors, Aretha Franklin, Jefferson Airplane (later Starship) and of course Jimi Hendrix! Screw what everyone else thinks!

The clips are great, but way too short. I would rather see them twice as long in a longer video.

Bill Cosby sings really ??? WTF I was a kid in 67 and I listened to the radio in a lot of different parts of the western U.S. and I never heard that Bill Cosby song. Haven't heard the whole list yet but I'm sure I'll remember a song that should have been on there.
