My advice. If your a single man/woman, no kids and employed , and don’t want to struggle making the rent ..... get a camper. I rather sacrifice then struggle to make rent on a property I don’t own. I live in a conversion van. I use to have my own apartment for 3 years. Paying 800 a month. The only thing I got from it was a boost in my credit score when I moved out for paying on time . I bought a camper and now the money I make go to old bills and repairs on MY camper. I may not be living in a spacious 1 bedroom apartment, but at least I don’t have to stress about making rent every 30 days or get put out . Life is a LITTLE less stressful. I’m happy in my cozy camper 😊. I have 2 cars parked next to it so I don’t have to drive this big thing too often . STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT STRUGGLING IF YOU DONT WANT TO SACRIFICE!!

Our community has to recognize keep your kids off cable, off internet, do not buy iPhones etc. take them to library on weekends. Find positive social clubs to join. Make them read. Join organizations that can expand their horizons. If you live in the hood and all u watch is rap videos, mtv, reality tv then you are programming yourself to follow that narrative. You have to make the choice for your children to create a different story. Only watch positive tv. Don’t curse around your kids. Join a church outside your community that has programs and positive images.Get a construction certificate, go to community college for computer engineering or business.

i agree. we went a lot further because our older family members were Jehovah’s witness and we weren’t really encouraged to hang out with “worldly people. (lol). we had many hobbies and participated in each other’s interests and that includes four of our cousins almost every day since we lived around the corner we lived at my aunts house or our moms. We weren’t allowed to watch a lot of tv so we had to entertain ourselves. we travelled any time that mom had enough saved to go to Mississippi from California We didn’t have men in the house but the boys were treat with respect and shared the same chores. parents and kids both have to work a little to keep their families together.

@MaTilda D'Hum xoxo - I understand what you mean but I do believe we can't be afraid of the world either. We can't get caught up in the technical parts of religion either. I grew up Christian in church every time the doors were open, but my parents let us experience the world because they gave us the armor and the values needed to know who we were and not allow the world to change us. I went to secular concerts, was allowed to date, got to go to dance clubs, parties, had all types of friends, got to travel for spring break etc. went to movies with my friends. Many of our friends, cousins who weren't allowed, did get pregnant and had issues. So I was never denied the worldly experience but again I already had my core values. It wasn't perfect still learning everyday and trying to figure out why we were so different. My parents didn't even

Mr Truth well instead of you condoning the way he speak you should tell him to learn how to speak proper English and also is not where you live it's how you live if you live in the ghetto then you going to get ghetto mentality apparently this guy is from the hood so he think his mentality is his thinking is ghetto so I have lived in Atlanta and then is a beautiful city it's not too crowded it's the way you think and your head about where you live it's not where you live it's how you live so he need to find a place slow he need to find a place to go to school and stop condoning this guy with this broken English and talking so slow and sluggish and stop complaining and move if it's too crowded for you she's too advanced for you you don't have an education yeah you're not going to find anywhere comfortable to that go to school brother I'm not talking about you I'm giving you some good sound advice go to school learn to speak English properly and then you'll find yourself in competition with the people that are there in Atlanta don't deter people from going to where you can't make it yeah education is what three or four black colleges that why are you not in one of those College explain that to me you didn't calm your hair you look tired you look broken and you look like you need a friend so get it together get a grip and take Life by the hand and walk through it like everybody else

All CA has its pros and cons Atlanta sucks when it comes to public transit and not to mention that there’s more gays than there is in San Francisco but the public transit in the Bay Area is very well on point and well organized and very bicycle friendly too. Rodric King Always the race bs. However, if one must use the race bs,why have you failed to mention what Atlanta was,before and after blacks? Why no word about what blacks do to any decent neighborhood? If you want to use the race bs, research the facts before you write that racism profiling bs.
@RodricKing
@RodricKing 5 жыл бұрын
@@SteveSmith-eb6ze First and foremost, I am a black business owner, and I have enough business sense to know my businesses make much more money in Atlanta than any other city on the Eastcoast because it is common for a black person to own a business in this region and/or geographical location. There are not many white people in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, etc... willing to spend their dollars with a black business owner in my State. I can confirm this because the revenue my business generates comes with data about my consumer. In addition, the majority of every individual that moves to Atlanta move because they are trying to create a better life for themselves. Thus, a black individual have an increased "opportunity" to build a foundation where it is common to see a black business owner; not to mention there chances of being successful increases off this fact alone. Everything is NOT always about race; I stated a fact and you made an attempt to convert it into a racist statement. Sorry, sir... You failed. In close, my statement was impersonal so why did you take it personal? Just wanted to launch a racist conversation, right? (Internet Thugs Suck)

@GROWTH DEVELOPMENT You ain't neva lied !!! ... I'm from Gary, Indiana and back in the late 90's when I was in high school everyone was leaving after graduation and moving to either Nap' (Indianapolis) or Atlanta. I never bought into the hype though. Even back then I said to my self; "Its way too many out-of-towner's flooding both those damn cites, I bet 20 years from now both them towns gon' be fucked up, especially for black people".. I was right !!! I got family in Nap' and Indianapolis done started gettin' hood as fuck and Atlanta will be just as dangerous as Chicago and Baltimore in a few years just like he said. If you gon' move down south, you better off going to Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Louisville, Birmingham, or Charlotte... Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Memphis, and Miami, are damn near just as dangerous as Detroit and Chicago. ...and its just as hard to find a good job in the South unless you got a Master's degree or a ton of experience in that field.

I’m Filipino. Born and raised in Bay Area California and lived in Atlanta for 2 years - never moving back. I have lots of tattoos but I’m a tech professional. In 2 years, my apartment in Buckhead has been broken into - TWICE. In 2 years, I have been approached at least a dozen times by random Black guys asking me where I’m from and asking “what set you reppin?” (Basically asking me what gang I’m in). In 2 years, I’ve been called either Chinese or Mexican almost every month. (I’m Filipino). In conclusion, it’s a shame because Atlanta is a beautiful and historic city, but ALOT of ignorant and wanna be thugs.

Atlanta was a little backward, southern city until Maynard Jackson came alond and built it up. Unforetumately that momentum was not continued. For the people from Atlanta or Atlanta are who have never lived anywhere else, you move to the these whites cities alright. He is right! I moved to Atlanta at the age of 17 in 1996. So much has changed in the city and in the suburbs for the worst. I moved to DC 4 years ago and there's definitely a difference. DC is expensive and has crime, however, I don't have to worry so much about my home door getting kicked in or my car sitting on bricks or stolen. I lived on high-rises in Buckhead, Midtown and Dunwoody. That's where the violent crimes are targeted. I also managed these properties so I've seen and heard it all.

bruh i really appreciate you keeping it 100 im from Chicago living in L.A. and you are exactly right i stayed out there in stone mountain for 2 yrs and thought it was easy living. and we do look at the ATL as a eazy come up. because of the cost and the poverty level being to where we could come out there and recruit. i felt it myself. i went to the gas station and found 5 dudes that were more loyal to me than people i grew up with and put them on. a few of my homies moved out there and laced it up. but got snitched on eventually which i told them. so you keep doing these videos tell the truth. and to be honest city niggas think the south is slow because of your accent that's what it is bruh when deep down we the same. you know chicago niggas got a accent to just not as deep, and now that i been in cali all this time my family say i proper talk like white folks. i really do real records for a living and im glad you said everybody not a rapper cuz it's a hard profession.

I'll make a more educated summation that it was two waves that changed the city, which ended up changing the culture a bit and that was post Freaknik/96 Olympics (bought up north people) and '05 - Katrina (bought N.O. people). Right on Point Brother. I work in Atl and metro. We work with the homeless, thru a few church’s and org’s. The biggest obstacles, aside from the need of meds for people with psychological issues, is city hall. Reed ignored the issue, and Bottoms is punishing indigenous homeless. Illegals she opens the door for. The whole while inner cities are being ignored and crushed into smaller areas. Thank You for your comments 😇🙏

I was born and raised in Atlanta. Atlanta in the 70s was a dangerous city now it's much safer than it was back then. Just go back and look at the crime statistics Atlanta was once the murder capital of the country now it's not. There are a lot of young professionals from all over the country moving to Atlanta because the cost of living in Atlanta is about half of what it would cost in Washington DC, New York, Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco. The vast majority of the people in Atlanta do not live inside the city limits. Inside the city limits you will not even find 1 million actual citizens. Yet there are eight or nine million people in the Atlanta and surrounding Metro. There are tons of things to do in Atlanta also. Is it perfect? Of course not. Is it much better than most big cities absolutely. Just don't get hung up in the wrong crowds.

You know you have really enlightened me. I visited Atlanta in 2000 for the All Star Game, I was in my early 20s and I had a ball. Not realizing it was during the ALL Star Game. Went back in 2012 and it seemed wack compared to the last time. I saw no celebrities or great parties. We paid to park everywhere which made us not want ro go anywhere., but we did and wasted so much money and time. I think they are luring people there, if they wanted to do a Mass killing, they would start there. That was the first place I heard of the thousands of plastic coffins just sitting on land. I don't even want to visit again.

I’ve been hearing from so many people in just the past 2 WEEKS why I shouldn’t even think about making a move to ATL in the near future. Granted, it’s been from those that have moved there, but I got the message loud and clear. There’s a lot of disease, loss, and high risks of several respects down there. It’s not like the safe haven I read about from its establishing years.

He’s keeping it 100. I lived in atl for 8 yrs. I moved in May 2020. I saw how rent increased and went up in the city and the burbs. Gentrification is slowly but surely increasing the rent in the hood and they’re using tactics to keep us (blk) from Renting. The jobs don’t pay well, especially where a lot of blacks lived. If you look at north Fulton county or Gwinnett or some parts of Cobb then they pay a little more than Fulton or south Fulton county, or clay co. It’s a set up to remove all the blacks to the suburbs or out the city. I was struggling my last yrs living there and I got the hell outta there. I live in bmore now and doing better than I did down there .

I remember reading an article bck in the early 90's bragging about the bourgening Atlanta , Ga.. It seems that that was being highlighted in a lot of magazines, etc. especially the ones that was targeted to the black community. I'm from N.Y.C. .and I was even considering to relocate to Atlanta. So, the advertising hype attracted this boom in population, unfortunately a lot of bad people came with it. There is a lesson to be learned here.

Kudos and best wishes to you. But you have Midtown, Midtown East, Virginia Hills, certain parts of E. Atlanta, downtown, Histoic Auburn and Even W Atlanta is in the begging stages of gentrification. The city sold The Underground so that area is due to major changes. They are going to bulldog that ghetto ass mall and move the bus stops. The part of Vine City where the stadium is is another up and coming area. Also the W. End Area. If you walk over in the area behind Krispy Cream and Bank of America, those homes are nice. You also have Morningside and Atlanta just annexed Emory and N Druid Hills. Buck head is fine but these other areas area areas to watch and still be in the city of Atlanta. If you look at up and coming areas you will get more bang for your buck and much appreciation value for your home. Some of the areas I just mentioned used to be hood central: Virginia Hills, East Atlanta, Historic Auburn, N Ave, Moreland Ave and some parts of Ponce Re Leon. Stay in touch and let me know how it goes.👌
