Dumb statement. His first point on price and value are spot on. Also the size of rims people get can be stupid. If you have a old car that’s a POS. Rims will help you sell it.

Actually his 1stvsatement is absolutely incorrect. We aren't in the 50s any more rims add value to a vehicle look it up. Don't go off what your grand daddy told you. There fore if they add value, they gave to have value

@@ottobauner9828 I’d agree with you if we’re talking “designer rims”. Or like I said if the car is worth less.I do know what you mean though. It has value to someone. Just not you when re selling.
@ottobauner98283 жыл бұрын
@@jesusthug the truth is all rims he is speaking of 22" up are designer rims. The fact still remains that rims/wheels have always and will always effect sale/resale value. This even goes for factory wheels/rims. For instance. The 2020 camaro. They offer 30 different wheel option some are standard on one model but an upgrade on another. They range from 18" -20" wheels. And can change the price of the car from 1000 to 3500. They also affect resale value hence why kbb and nada have options steel, factory alloy, and premium wheels. Premium wheels being aftermarket. They all effect the value of the vehicle

I agree with you on anything past 22 inches. You can ride 22’s without a problem if you got the right tire. The entire diameter of a 22 compared to a 20 with tires isn’t that big of a difference. The big difference is the transfer of energy to the shocks and body because the low pro tire on the 22 has a different design within the belt of the tire itself

All facts. I used to sell cars and it was a headache trying to sell cars with rims because you have reduced the number of people that will buy the car. Most people don't want rims because they know aftermarket modification can have a plethora of issues. About 5 years after the charger came out we couldn't keep them on the lot. We got one in on 24's, it was very nice looked new with low mileage and we had to end up sending it to auction because no one would touch it.
@D.DawkTV3 жыл бұрын
I’ve always had custom stuff. When buying rims.. I always keep my stock wheels to put back on the vehicle when I want to trade it in or sell. If you are spending money on some custom wheels, you should think about how bad you want them and will they look good on another vehicle? In other words, don’t buy wheels and sell them. Keep them for later. I promise you that you will use them later. I also never buy rims that’s too big.. meaning if you have to cut into the car to get the wheels to fit, that means the rims are too big. That will devalue your car if you plan to sell. I personally never go above 22s on my cars. If I had an SUV I would do 24s Or 26s
@jacobvazquez19194 жыл бұрын
I don't agree nor disagree. To properly put wheels on your car you'll need top keep the same diameter as the tire. Any professional shop will tell you this. Example; a factory 20 with tire that has a diameter of 28 = the plus 1 plus 2 rule. Therefore, add an inch to the wheel and minus an inch from the tire while keeping the same diameter to 28 (per my example). That's a proper rim swap.

Exactly I went from factory 17’s on my Yukon to 26’s with no problem at all. No cut no rub

Mechanic here. A lot of valid and true points made there. I run rims but stick with no bigger than 20 or 22” and thats on a v8 truck or full size suv only. Even a lot of 22s they are so much heavier than the stock wheels than the vehicle has been designed around and suspension and brake systems are set up to handle load wise. Significantly Increased rotating mass when your wheel is a lot heavier it physically slows down the vehicle it slows down the braking distances and it wears shocks and suspension quicker no doubt as you mentioned. the tires can be a lot more expensive as well. Suspension in proper working order and a dialed in alignment are musts to save those tires too.

I followed the oem specs for bigger rims in this case 295/35R24 same revolution etc..as my 22”s no difference in gas mileage. Also I’m old school and take rims off in the winter and would never keep rims on if traded cause if you take care of rims you still will ALWAYS find someone who will buy on streets for close to what u paid. So my suggestion is do your research on rims first and if your not doing anything crazy like 28,30 etc you will be fine adding a couple of inches more then factory rims.

Both these vehicle has been garage kept and everything underneath is immaculate that's why I chose to put rims on mines and plus I'm from Chicago that's what we do LOL 👑💯💪🏾 I never have any problems with my vehicles and I've been doing this for years and years.... It's just how you take care of your vehicle us as men who like the big rims know what it is already 😁💯 a lot of Chrome and decals is how we do it I love it and they love it.... Both my Grand Marquis now have decals that can come off if I wanted to take them off chrome fender trim that can come off if I wanted to take them off... Now they do have 5% tint all around and smoked out headlights and both have Chrome eagle hood ornaments 👑💪🏾🔥🔥 I'm not too much worried about the value of these going down because I can sell one right now for $6500 easy without the rims $5500 and they both have two 12s hifonics with 1100 w amps.... So anything on my vehicles can easily come off if no one likes this but I usually don't have a problem selling my vehicles like this at all they love it 👑💪🏾💯😁😁😁

I like rims my truck looks better with rims then stock and I have a 2018 GMC Sierra SLT and I’m planning on keeping the truck until the wheels fall off

Dude. I have to disagree with you. I bought a set of 30s for 7k and sold them for $5,500 after 4 years of use. Didnt even change the tires. I did sale them separately though. 😆. But you have to buy the 3 pice wheel to retain your value. Not those 1 pice wheels that are massed produced.

Will say 3 piece wheels can always have barrels and centers replaced if damaged. Least usually can be replaced
@derektheproducer3 жыл бұрын
Lmao. I agree with you to a certain extent. If I buy a set of 26s for 1900 and ride on them for 5 years then sell them for half the price after 5 years, did I really lose that much money compared to spending over 7k for some 3 piece wheels losing $1500 in value over the same length of time? Think about it and do the math... It actually makes more financial sense to buy the 1 piece wheels for cheaper.

@@derektheproducer dude i have gotten decent 20"s on my cars for $300 on Craigslist they might have a couple minor scratches but hell i bought a used car too so what's different lol

$300 with tires that lasted 5k to 20k longer when i needed tires anyways

I only buy aftermarket Hoops for looks, I know they will depreciate and quickly at that and that's okay. I keep the factory wheels anyway so when and if the car is sold, they will GO WITH the factory Hoops.

When you say “rims”, do you mean “wheels”? Because the stock “16-inch-wheels” are still technically called “rims”... aren’t they? Or do I have it wrong?
@kingcrownp71304 жыл бұрын
B3burner “rims” 20-22+
@Mr813Fla4 жыл бұрын
When he uses the word "Rims".... he's talking about after market Wheels and tires usually a few inches bigger than the factory stock wheels originally sold on the vehicles. The younger generation uses the term "Rims" vs "Wheels".

I’ve been building modded cars since I just in my late teens, so that’s now over 30years. My latest 3 project car’s I’ve been starting to build to suit having BIGGER Wheel & Tyre Combo, front to rear & to suit their specific purposes. Being Pro-Mod Drag, PowerCruise/Drag-Combat Events & the Pro-BurnoutCar. Each Designed & Built from the Ground Up with their Overall Tyre High & Width with Steering in mind. So Overall, I do agree to a point with what you “Say” in your presentation, BUT definitely Not with the “Title”

Having after market rims is the same as oem rims of larger size. Even oem rims are launching in larger sizes when you jump into platinum and premium or black label categories. You tear your vehicle up by oversizing your rims more than what your vehicle can handle. Meaning that if its rubbing or you have to tuck them or put extensions on them more than likely you will be causing other damage. Also the way you drive has a huge part in all of that. Ive had nothing but brand new and or newer vehicles. Never had a problem with any of them and always had rims on them all. I think 85% of the time its the way you drive that tears crap up
@ralphlauren79032 жыл бұрын
And also every vehicle with rims that i traded into the dealer they gave me more value for it. And o always go in knowing bluebook and market values before hand.
