Never been a fan of front brakes for the reason Pat mentioned but also if you hit a bit of gravel your front wheel will lock up and slide. Way easier to regain control of a sliding back wheel. So, if I was screaming down a descent heading into a sharp corner I would be using both brakes to wipe off speed then easing off the front brake going into the corner. Hard to explain. You get a feel for the physics after a while of the limits of your bike when it comes to grip.

Yes, it took me a while to get the hang of it, and even now I could do better on the descents, there's quite a skill to braking 😃🚴♀️🚴

On the topic of brakes, I use my front brake 90% of the time since it provides the most stopping power. However, in panic mode or when sending it down steep hills I prefer rear brake and occasionally shift my weight to behind my saddle. I love my disc brakes, they're the best IMO.

I'm the same, I hardly use my back brake, but have been trying to teach myself to use it more to stop wearing out the front brake pads so quickly!! 😅

Yes a good point . I forgot to mention to shift your weight behind the saddle. That minimises skidding .

We can cover that in a future episode 😃🚴♀️🚴@@patrickjonker234

He forgot the most important tip: you don't need disc brakes on road bike to control a 25-28mm tyre.

A good topic to talk about in future episode ✅ I don't have disc brakes on my roadie 🚴♀️🚴
