Major War = Major Draft
@rebeccaweil1

War is inevitable but we need the military to grab back its own people and infrastructure and stop handing it over to military contractors except when building weapons. The military is denuded by the grasping and greedy people who are not capable of running a military. When wars were fought in the twentieth century it was a formidable force because it could take care of itself. Cut the cords and realign with our military forces to be successful and not dependent upon bad water from government contracts or crappy food from vendors and why was Halliburton so necessary? Oh right,Cheneys business available. From food to Blackwater the forever wars taught us that we can do it better without so much grift.

You can’t have a whole of society response if society itself isn’t whole. We’re fat, stupid and scattered into “communities” battling for victimhood. Opposite of 1945. People were fit and accustomed to sacrifice. How you gonna fix that?

Convince other countries and immigrants into fighting and dieing in the front lines of our wars while we supply logistics information and specialists. Like in the Ukraine.

What sacrifice did mainland America & its citizens make? Bombed? Rationed?

Instead of the American public wanting to know what's in store for America and its military's future by going to news outlets. It would be best to listen to the Generals and top NCOs.

No it would be best to listen to the rank and file and society, they pay the worst price , and leadership seldom steps up to accountability

The problem is we stayed so much on COIN and didnt think of hybrid 5 Generation warfare. We lost or the need to put enablers like Civil Affairs and Psyops and Cyber folks into the picture. Special Forces thought making another small tactical teams or guerrilla force was going to be end all be all. But information war and hearts and mind effects or end game we lose that. I can go on to the abyss because we as military is going lose the next fight badly. The problem is US Army loves to be tribal on all aspects SOF and Conventional.

Missing one other domain that needs an update: psy ops.
@cdj8520

He's the reason they haven't been updated in the first place! They forced PSYOP to be under SF groups where they have no funding or autonomy and refused to conduct the study of how PSYOP needs to be updated

@@cdj8520 Interesting. I can’t understand for a minute how the Russians seem to be ten steps ahead of the West in getting their message out and doing so persuasively. Meanwhile, we are merely reacting.

@cdj8520 He personally did that? Because I was in SF as far back as 2003, and that is the way it was back then. This guy was nowhere near a general 21 years ago, dude.

@MVK_GS no it wasn't lmao, in 2003 up until 2011 PSYOP and CA had their own commands and general officers, and yes, he personally did this, the inspector general's office lit his ass up

Stop asking difficult questions of a politician. Where are our drones, hypersonics etc?

I think we've become to reliant on SFs to fight the battles. Thats all fine and dandy up until we end up in a war with a near peer such as north korea or China who have ships and formidable ground forces. Our SF are not an infinite resource. If we wentt into a major conflict with China on one front and Iran on another as much as we love to fool ourselves we do not have sufficient manpower. We couldn't institute a call up of people eligible for the draft in a manner fast enough to face a near peer threat. Bottom line we don't know how and it seems no one is asking the questions.

I feel like all this talk is like the missile gap from the cold war. We gotta justify the spend by stoking the fear.

Whole of society effort with segregation in place . SMH. Get these idiots out of power because they dont even have the intestinal fortitude to admit stupid internal decisions and attitudes that held this nation back.

Normandy? Well, that was one small engagement, as regards the Eastern Front, and back then the US was a productive country and had an industrial base. Today, we make very little real stuff as GDP is 70-75 percent consumption. Don't fight the last war. US military so called leaders have let 15 million Trojan horses cross our borders without saying a word. We have also destroyed our Industial base while the so called military leaders haven't said a word. We can't produce missiles or drones in anywhere near the quantity China or Russia can produce them.

Stop filling the ranks of sf with a bunch of bro dudes who haven't spent one day in the big army would help. Stop with the nonsense of letting females in combat roles as well this includes combat support. If you have to do mandatory service lottery for the country so be it. It would be a benefit for many in the country to serve out of high school or college.

You overlook M.A.S.H. units. Male doctors and nurses are no more likely to be able to 'turn soldier' and defend the perimeter than a female counterpart. That's why those units could 'bug out' swiftly.
