Thank you Matt for this video. Literally every SDR role I’ve applied for have been offering me 33k-37k base 😭😭

Hi Matt, I started searching a lot these last 2 weeks, I am an industrial engineer with experience in B2B sales, I got 2 interviews and the main issue was that I am not based in the US. Which job sites would you recommend for people outside US? Thanks!

Matt quick question - given most tech jobs are remote it leaves an opening for endless applicants - would it be smarter to just apply to jobs that are local to me in person? Would reduce the applicant pool by an order of magnitude
@MattMacnamara4 ай бұрын
don't worry about the number of applicants. 99% of those people are ONLY applying online...which is a black hole. Prospect into the companies you want to work at.

@@MattMacnamara appreciate the quick response, when you say prospecting you mean adding on linkedin/ messaging (with a prospecting deck example?), and emailing (how do you find their emails?/ is it the same message as linkedin?)

Second question if you don't mind. I have 4 years of solar sales experience and 1.5 years of co-founding a sales training company. Would it be smarter to apply to an SDR role and then based on my interview get "graduated" to an AE offer? This would up my chances of getting in the conversation more easily?
@MattMacnamara4 ай бұрын
I would apply for account executive roles. They can always knock you down to an SDR interview if need be. 4 years of solar sales...selling solar is extremely difficult...you have the skill set of an account executive

@@MattMacnamara I've been told by tech sales friends that why would a company trust me to close a deal if I've only done B2C - it's honestly been the hardest part - deciding between SDR and AE.
