Great video but you didn't mention in the description where to find these workouts, would be a great help for your viewers to specify this. As a relatively new zwifter I had to do some detective work and compiled this list: #10 - HIT 45sec #1 ▶ [4 week FTP Booster - Week 1 - Day 2] #9 - SST (Short) ▶ [Less Than an Hour To Burn] #8 - Micro Bursts ▶ [Hunter's Challenge - Week 1 - Day 2] #7 - Over/Unders ▶ [Zwift Academy 2016 - Month 1 - Session 8] #6 - Lactate Shuttling ▶ [Zwift Academy 2018 - 8] #5 - Race Day ▶ [Zwift Academy 2018 - 9] #4 - Hill Sprints ▶ [GCN - Power Climbs] #3 - Race Winning ▶ [GCN - Flat Out Fast] #2 - The Gorby ▶ [Less Than an Hour To Burn] #1 - Jon's Mix ▶ [Less Than an Hour To Burn]

Most Zwift workouts are a mishmash of randomness. Example: The FTP course is way off. When you try to target everything, you target nothing. What I've learned from Seiler, Couzens, and Dylan Johnson is how simple is typically the most effective. Want to build FTP.??? 2 or 3 of 10-20 minutes at FTP wattage with 1/4 or 1/2 active time recovery. If your Zwift workout looks like a rainbow of colors, ditch it.
@Bartm85 Жыл бұрын
Correct - target 1 zone per day/training. Make all effort in that zone count (high quality efforts) and do no tire yourself needlessly in between targeted zone efforts.
@LifeCycle1978 Жыл бұрын
I agree but the average Zwift user is a part time user at best. They are typically crunched for time and aren’t focused on any particular goal, just working out. Zwift workouts can help them cover their cardio without trying to add a training regime to their already full plate.
@Bartm85 Жыл бұрын
@@LifeCycle1978 that's right, and having fun and keep doing sports is the most important! Quality of training sessions is secondary to that.

Great that couple of GCN's workouts are on the top 10. I personally love GCN's "Classsic 2 x 20" and "First flash of fast". But I cut their warm ups and cool downs for a bit.

The HIT 45sec session was the hardest that I've done so far on Zwift. Going two times through the whole FTP booster workout, this was by far the toughest session for me. But there are definitely some other very inspiring sessions on this list that seem to be much harder! Hopefully I will be able to give em a try in like 8 to 10 weeks (after my ligament rupture will be healed). Thanks for this video!

Chris L. I’m doing the ftp builder, maybe 4 weeks in. I’m fairly novice ftp was 240 at 77 kg. How much did ur ftp improve by
@chrisl.61585 жыл бұрын
@@callumu90 Well, I did the FTP "Booster" which is only 4 weeks. In October I was completely new to the whole "training" thing. If I remember correctly the first 4weeks FTPbooster bumped me up from 255 to 278 W in Oct/Nov and the second try in January to 285 (at around 73-74 kg).

Jon’s mix always seems to me like the beginning of a long grand tour stage as the breakaway establishes. You’ve got the sprints or surges but then still have to put in some longer solid intervals

Great vid Chris. BTW how do you switch off ERG mode during a workout?
@MrSuicycle5 жыл бұрын
You can do it with the Zwift Companion App. Don't know about any Keyboard shortcuts, since I only have my phone nearby when on the trainer.

Click the up arrow on your keyboard, then it will give you the option to turn off or on.

Whats the best roads to do these training on
@dul224 жыл бұрын
In my opinion these are not structured enough trainings, you got a bit of everything but nothing specific really to work on. And if you want to simulate a race... just race. By the way, how are you getting recovery by training at zone 5 in the Gorby ?? Recovery is zone 1 maybe 2 period. Cheers.
@1timdog10664 жыл бұрын
dul22 look at the Zwift graft and not the actual workout graft. They’re zone 1 recovery periods between the zone 5 intervals.The actual “workout” graft shows the person wasn’t able ride in zone 5 for the total 5 mins.
