Top Ten Yu-Gi-Oh Monster Card Backstories (Vol. 3)

Time to open up the Yu-Gi-Oh storybook again! As with the previous videos, I’ll be breaking down the lore of a monster based on all cards that associate with it, including spell, trap and other monster cards. Any potential holes in the story when jumping from card to card will be filled with my speculation on what happened in between.

#3 It's safe to assume that Doomking won considering his higher ATK and how his effect negates Red-Eyes'. #2 Avalon actually shows a mortally wounded Artorigus, its effect also heavily implies that both knights died. The two women aren't tending to his wounds but saying their good byes while he's about to die. #1 "Non animal being"? But humans ARE animals.

Endymion is actually a preety long lore, since it's not just their story but also has the stories of the Mystical Beasts, Prophecy, Invoked AND Witchcrafters mixed in too. And with the new Invoked card showing an awakened Aliester fused with the Grand Spellbook Tower the story is still going on too.

A monster so powerful that he could win any fight, obliterate any for, his name exodia, he was feared, so feared that in a moment of distraction or sleep some unamed magicians sealed him away within the spellbinding circle and then split it into 5 parts that were scattered across the world, looking to be whole again exodia promises to lend his infinite power to anyone who can break his seal and reunite his 5 pecies, some unamed being freed 2 of exodia's in the card breaking the seal, to witch exodia with a fraction of his power scared off an unseen foe as seen in obliterate, but he lost his Lim in the act, without all 5 pecies still living exodia could not be whole again untill the unamed helper was able to make a contract with exodia, if he could kill off exodia's lims exodia could zombify each of his parts and reunite that way, the unamed helper preformed the forbidden Lord ritual to became exdoius the ultimate forbidden Lord to aid in this task untill they succeeded and thus exodia became exodia necros, as a reward for helping him become whole again exodia turned exodius into exodia incarnate a being who could use his power to unzombify exodia while his body is back together, exodia's wanted this since being a zombie his lums could easily detach or be reserected dividing his power again, to prevent this he gave incarnate the ability to unzombify exodia while he was still whole restoring exodia's full power.

Ignoble knight died in the confrontation with Artorigus but Artorigus was also fatally wounded and eventually succumbed to his wounds as portrayed in (Avalon). With Artorigus no longer around, Bedwyr returns Excaliburn to the lady of the lake, which Eachtar (supposedly stalking Bedwyr) is able to find the location of the sword.

I think an honourable mention would probably be the entirety of duel terminal. Mainly because that’s a massive thing and is related to number 1. It’s a HUGE lore dump from worms to zefra and then some... it’s probably the single largest comprehensive story told in the cards.

I know this is an old video but the gusto one is in a metaplot but the has a different story. Long story short there was a war which involves the gishki, gem knights, gusto, ice barrier and some i forgot. They all died and some evil goddess called tierra revived some of them into shaddolls including winda. I forgot the whole story but I remember reading it in some sites

Sincerely, the Lucifer/Egiptian gods/True King/Aleister connection seems reaching: theme kinda resoing aside, untill this day there is not even a card linking one to other to he base a backstory on. DT storyline has nothing to do with that and if the wiki is to be trusted, Master Guide 5 contradicts you and give a diferent motivation to the Qliphort

Wow, thank you so much for featuring that little blurb I did as the top backstory! I honestly can't thank you enough! With that being said, though, I assume you'd might want to know more about the Duel Terminal, so I could give you the story of Gishki Emilia, a much smaller but just as exciting story of monsters before the Shaddoll story. The Gishki were a tribe of spellcasters that lived in the world of the Mist Valley (essentially the Duel Terminal), and as such were ritual summoners. They wielded a relic known as the Aquamirror that would summon powerful monsters to fight for them. At the time, their leader was Gishki Noellia and she had a daughter, Gishki Emilia. So, things began to tumble downhill for the Gishki when the Steelswarm, corrupt and extremely powerful monsters, invaded the Mist Valley and began to slaughter everyone. The Gishki turned to allying with the Vylons out of pure desperation to resist the Steelswarm. Eventually, the Steelswarm army fell and the Vylons decided to exterminate everyone involved to end this endless cycle of conflict. With no one else to rely on, the Gishki, under Noellia's orders, began abducting other members of other clans in the valley and use them in their summoning rituals. In one of these rituals, Emilia is turned into Gustkraken and Merrowgiest. When they all defeat the Vylons, Noellia goes on a power trip and begins to summon these monsters to take over the valley instead of defending it by making use of the Laval clan. At the height of her madness, Noellia uses Emilia in a violent and brutal ritual that summons Gishki Zielgigas, their most powerful ritual summon. Emilia dies as a result of this ritual and Noellia infects herself with the "-lswarm" virus that created the Steelswarm and Zielgigas. When she's finally free of the influence of the virus, Noellia and Gishki Avance revive Emilia. Unfortunately, the creature summoned by Noellia, Zielgigas, attacks them and Noellia uses the last of her strength to protect her daughter and dies while fighting Zielgigas. Emilia and Avance escape and Emilia joins the Zefra, becoming the Dance Princess of the Zefra. I know it seems long, but I thought the story was pretty awesome and the Gishki have some of the best card art. Plus, as a bonus, there probably won't be any updates to this story. Once again, I love these videos and glad if I can contribute to them!

Thanks for the comment! I like to use viewer responses for stories since there so many out there and there is so much detail. Plus, I want to give credit if an idea isn't mine. I know I have to condense some of the bigger ones for the sake of time, so I generally just use what is seen on the cards, as I did with the first video, and only use the supplementary material when I think there's an unexplained jump in events, so I know I may be leaving out some details. Regardless, I'm glad you got a chance to see this one and I'll consider this story for a future backstory list!

Idea: Hear me out: Blue Eyes Backstories. So, what I know from the Gaia backstory is that Blue Eyes White Dragon used to be a beast that was extremely hard to kill and few people actually survived an encounter. One of the encounters with a Blue Eyes was BLS. However, I'm either guessing that during the battle, Blue Eyes White Dragon acquires some of the chaos and becomes a new form, Blue Eyes Chaos Dragon, and eventually Blue Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon. Another outcome is that Rider of the Storm Winds finds out how to tame these dragons and there becomes a whole tribe that revolves around Blue Eyes, and with combining their powers, Blue Eyes Spirit Dragon is created, and eventually Azure Eyes Silver Dragon.

Oh boy, you should do a video (or videos) about the duel terminal story, which contains the whole winda story and explains some points different fron what the video says, along with a lot of backstory. Kinda like the world chalice lore but this one is supposed to be finished. Nice video anyways!

The funny thing about the "-itsu" guys is that the names "Koitsu", "Soitsu", "Aitsu", and "Doitsu" mean, literally "This guy (by me)", "That guy (by you)", "THAT guy (over there)", and "What guy?".

Red eyes b dragon was my favourite but red eyes black flare dragon is actually younger than the red eyes b dragon it was said by konami during the release of new red eyes cards back in 2016

You really skimped on Gaia, he has a lot more cards, like Lord Gaia and the Synchro. Also, with the dragon hunter, there are a lot of dragon hunting monsters: D. Human, Dark Blade (who I think might be a younger Buster Blader), Dai Grepher was supposed to (though didn't outside of Spirit Ryu), Dragon Manipulator, whoever Master of the Flaming Dragonswords is, And non-Dragon monsters who serve and/or metamorphosize into dragons: Lord of D., Lady of D., Dragonpulse Magician, Dragonpit Magician, Tyhone, Masked Dragon, Felgrand has a whole series, Paladin of White Dragon has enough variants that I suspect it's some kind of plot. Several Dragons go through a Metamorphosis other than just Red-eyes, Blue-eyes, and Armed. And a lot of Zombifications: Crass Clown into Clown Zombie, Crawling Dragon into Dragon Zombie, Zanki into Armored Zombie, Majestic Mech into Malevolent Mech, etc. Then there's all the Lswarmifications. All the Charmers and Charmer Familiars have stories. There's several cards that I think suggest Alligator Sword has a story (such as Cyber-Tech Alligator and Mikazukinoyaiba). The Allies of Justice are Anti-worms and tie in with Mist Valley and Flamvells apparently, and for that matter I could swear that Worm Solid and Speedroid Tri-eye dice have some kind of connection. I think Protector/Invader of the Throne might tie in with the Tyrant/Revolution storyline you mentioned in first storyline video.

I like to think, based on The Dark Magicians, that the Dar Magic Inheritance wasn't him "passing on", but it was DMGs final test and upon passing, she's no longer just an apprentice, she's now his equal. And now being as powerful as DM, she's ready to teach her own team.

Dark Magician Girl was the number 1 Yu-Gi-Oh card I was trying to get back when I was collecting them. I did have hundreds of cards including the Yu-Gi-Oh, Kaiba, Joey starter decks. Kuriboh was number two on my list I wanted.
