I’m loving this! I may be getting a promotion at work, which would include a business trip to Italy to our company’s HQ in Rome! My mother used to tell me about her European travel adventures from before I was born, and just thinking about being there, like you did, it’s making me have tears in my eyes. I hope that I am able to experience this beautiful city!

We walked 26 miles in one day in Rome. Sooooo many stairs!!! Most breathtaking places are the insides of churches.

Hi! I was there during the late morning, around 11am. It opens earlier 8-9am, but it starts closing around 4pm. Lovely market with a lot of character :o)

The altar of the homeland it is not particularly appreciated by the Romans. It is a fairly recent construction that has upset a part of the city. Style, for the era in which it was built, has nothing beautiful. It is called "typewriter". It has an important symbolic meaning because the tomb of the unknown soldier: it is a memory for all the soldiers who did not have a burial. Unknown soldiers who scattered in various battles, explosions and lost their lives without receiving any recognition. It is important because it makes clear that in a war there are no heroes and no heroes but only victims. sorry for my translation English ciao

I didn't know anything about the controversy behind it, thank you for sharing your knowledge! To my unrefined eyes, the Altar of the homeland is a beautiful monument, and any city in the world would look better with it.

Love the video, but move the camera slower. Hard to see when the camera is moved fast.

Obelisks in Rome were taken from Egypt. Not replicated, or built from inpiration of originals, but the real thing brought from the original place during imperial times.

The obelisk of piazza navona (Agonale) It was built at the time of the emperor Domitian by imitating the Egyptian models and copying hieroglyphs. It is true that there are several obelisks in Rome brought from Egypt
