I think Disney animators should use Jackie as the model for a new smiling fairy godmother. She’s got all the good feels.

Doing Alaska (with a 3 day pre-cruise land portion in Denali!!!) in August. Can’t wait! Thanks for the port tips.

We saw a bear at the Mendenhall Glacier. Right there hanging out, the ranger was keeping people back. The waterfall was beautiful. Take a local bus and you'll have much more time.

Doing Alaska next year in May. My second time and excited. I loved sightseeing the city of Vancouver before my trip home, Disney excursion. I stayed at the Fairmount at the airport. Very expensive but since we arrived at 1 am and I was traveling solo it was a Godsend.

We did a cruise to Alaska on another cruise line, and it was spectacular! Took a helicopter to Mendenhall Glacier which was amazing, saw a whale breaching next to our ship in Skagway. Just a spectacular trip. Highly recommend!

Sorry for the long comment! This was really helpful! I love that Jackie gave some options those of us that don’t like heights! I would love to do an Alaska cruise, but I worry there will not be much I can do. I am fairly active and can do Disney park walking no problem, but I do have a condition that causes my knees to dislocate easily so wilderness hiking and anything with really uneven terrain/lots of tripping hazards. Between my limitations and my 🐥 fears, I worry I will spend all that money to poke around souvenir shops/port areas and look at the scenery from the ship. This girl is not riding in a helicopter or walking on a glacier. 😂😂😂 There is always plenty for me in Europe or the Caribbean (I have zero issues swimming, snorkeling, and going to museums thank goodness), but Alaska seems so active/wilderness focused. 🤷🏻♀️

I love Alaska! I was wondering what are your favorite excursions in Falmouth, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman ? Thanks !

For the glacier viewing excursion from ship (on glacier day), do you recommend the early or late excursion. Or does the timing not matter?
@DISUnlimited8 ай бұрын
We did late. I’d do that if you want to meet characters or if you want to make sure you enjoy the slow ride up the passage. You would be flying up on the early one and probably cold and too tired to want to see the passage on the way out.

You said don’t sit on the left and then say sit on the left…. So which one is the preferred side?

I think she said to sit on the left.

What month did you all go?

Great tips and we would second all of them. You didn’t mention if you did the 1st or 2nd glacier viewing time but after lots of research we did the 1st time slot. It was awesome because we got to see the ship come into the glacier area and got a lot of great photos of the ship.

Ultimately, it’s more important to get it versus the time but I’d opt for the second solely because I like the slow journey up the pass versus going to do the excursion, getting back on the ship, and then you’re starting to get into evening as you wind back down.
