Well said! Put a proper baffled oil pan people! Oderwise you will end Like me hahaha

Great summary! Oil temp is super important; don't think a lot of people realize how long it really takes for it to warm up on the street or how quickly it heats up when pushed.
@TougeTimeАй бұрын
Yes. Even for daily/spirited driving it is nice to see the oil is actually at temp since the water is unrelated.
@panicwireАй бұрын
Definitely. The small bearing size makes it really important.

What kind of fuel sock are you running? I was thinking about getting one as well. Since I'll be changing my fuel pump/filter soon

A toyota water cooled oil cooler (sandwich type) can be retrofit from an early model 5SFE (used on millions of Camry’s). They can be found in junkyards and are easy to get to (radiator side of engine under oil filter). Grab the union as well. The 2ZZ already has the cooling fittings needed; just capped. Only need coolant hose and a gasket.

Yup I saw those. I think or at least recommend to still add one if you are doing 20min flat out

Cheers for the tips! Just wondering which Holley fuel sock worked for you? :O

Regarding the catch cans, I really don't understand why you'd want them to drain back to the pan. I know the TPS car is set up that way but I don't see the point of running that crap back into your pan. Regarding the oil cooling, I found a very elegant solution from the Lotus guys. A Laminova C43-330 water/oil heat exchanger. Combine that with an upgraded radiator and you get super stable oil temp no matter the conditions and it requires no airflow.

Oem Eur 2zz´s celicas have a factory oil to water oil cooler. Don´t know why those cars don´t come with one.
@AlexIv115Ай бұрын
@@elmate666666 Yes, mine had that but it’s insufficient on track.
@elmate666666Ай бұрын
@@AlexIv115 if you have a big aftermarket water radiator there's no problem. Running it with a supercharger for track
@AlexIv115Ай бұрын
@@elmate666666 Well, If you live in a cold climate, maybe, I don’t know. In 30 degrees ambient it’s most definitely a problem. 😂
@elmate666666Ай бұрын
@@AlexIv115 It's +40 degrees here in summer. Running track days on 30+ without a problem. What radiator do you have? I have a Koyo radiator and it's 3x thicker than the OEM one. Also don't run oil with high viscosity like some people do

So an lsd isn’t that important for the track? This is good news!
@TougeTimeАй бұрын
Its not if your car exploded by not doing the other things lol. Lsd is important to go fast.

@@TougeTime I know, was just joking but most 1zz and 2zz builds don’t have an lsd so I thought it was worth mentioning.
