Thank you for bringing up the 1k HP. There is so much work that has to be done to keep that car up and running. You can get your car 600-700hp safely and it will run all day!

@@SN95Power Absolutely. 700rwhp on the street is an absolute blast. I've ridden in some cars 900rwhp plus and you cant really use the power.

I’m based in the U.K. and the SN95 is one of my favourite generations of Mustang. I haven’t had mine for long and I am super pleased to finally own one! My plans for the car are simple… get it running like new. Put some loud pipes on it for that V8 soundtrack and enjoy the ride 😎

I had a 97 cobra and I over revved it on a freeway onramp to beat a semi! Factory fuel shutoff happened, and the motor leaned out and detonation bent a rod! My 98 cobra has a rev limiter that kicks in before the factory fuel shutoff, just in case now! 4 valves are expensive to fix, so insurance never hurts, if you forget to let off the throttle, or miss a shift! Mine is now set up for the twisties with an independent rear and full Kenny Brown coilover suspension setup! Brakes are next, then mild engine mods! California has strict smog rules so engine mods are limited! A set of forged rods and pistons, plus a smog legal supercharger are in the future!

People ask me literally every time I’m at a function with my hood up about my setup. (Turbo sbf with a standalone and coil near plug) full stock ish interior it’s on 17/18 psi, and I drive it anywhere. Yeah, it’s cool and fun but there is A LOT of work involved. I have two sets of tires and my street tires are still drag radials. It’s not for everybody

Spot on info man! Pretty much had the same idea, tubular front end, aluminum victor jr top end stroked to a 347 with a e cam I believe. Gear it right, I went with 4.10s get the suspension right and the right tire and you can have a ton of fun with around 350-500hp in one of these cars.

Great content. I honestly think your tip one should have been your 1st comment. "What is your goal for the car?" Very underestimated. People just don't plan things out or plan ahead. Purchased my 2nd SN95 and in the process of convertingfrom drag car to street car. Keep the content coming. New subscriber here!

My request is straightforward not necessarily simple but definitely have a plan. I want something that handles really well I do a lot of back road cruising not racing just cruising. The car's bone stock it's an automatic I wanted a manual but it's in too good a shave to pass up. In the month I owned it I have upgraded from 16-in factory to 17-in high quality wheels. It now has 9 in enkei rpf1 10inch rear. Seeds and interior are immaculate car belong to the elderly couple that bought it new. I've already put a very nice sounding stereo not huge in it. Components said in the door Alpine head unit four channel amp and a 10-in sub. It goes in in a week to get the windows tinted correctly. Still has stock power all I want is a back road cruiser with about 50 more horsepower without using nitrous. I've been told all the little tricks like PI heads long tube headers different intake and camshaft it almost seems too costly for the outlay of power. I'm thinking about saving for a year or so and just put no low boost kenne belle, vortec or other brand supercharger on it to get the power I want it probably dynos honestly around 200? If that's the case 250 at the wheels would be perfect. Never going to be a race car like I said just a cruiser just would like a little more power because a lot of the back roads I cruise on are very hill intensive

Quality lower springs, shocks/struts and bushing will make the car handle like you want. Custom tune 4.10 gear with full exhaust minus headers will give you that acceleration you want.
@midnight347
@midnight347 Жыл бұрын
Pi heads and intake are pretty cheap and would give you more power than a pi car has (35 more than 1998 45 more than 96-97) because it will bump a non pi motor up to like 10.5:1 compression or about a point more. That along with some aftermarket cams will run killer with long tubes and you can have this for not THAT much money maybe 2-3k or so it will bring the car from likely under 200 now (they're only 215 stock at the motor and yours is an auto which reads lowest) you're probably doing 170 now these mods can take you up around 300 to the tires and make the car sound like pure sex. The suspension mods mentioned above and the gearing is really all it needs it will be everything you ever wanted of a mustang. I know you think you only want 50 more but take my advice you'll be alot more happy close to 300 wheel give or take and the sound will be unreal. I'm talking a car that is totally transformed for like 4 grand un go fast goodies that isn't that bad really. If you ever wanted to boost it that would be a pretty solid foundation for a boosted setup as well easy 450 wheel. If not it's a good na setup. That and the gears and suspension will make it feel like a totally different car in every way. A good higher stall converter would also drastically wake it up too but not absolutely necessary. People will tell you that is a drag racing mod but it drastically wakes up a car even on the street if you never do any dig stuff. When you smash that gas it is ready to roll right then no hesitation. But like I said you may or may not wanna do that. That 4r70 in your car is actually a pretty good trans and decent tough. If you do all the things I've suggested along with mods above to suspension and gears that thing would be extremely fun on any backroad or any road period you'll fall in love with it. You would probably never imagine that car being as awesome as it would be setup this way. Pretty good bang for the buck imo

@@midnight347 I know that's probably something you don't hear from a lot of mustang owners I'll be 53 next Sunday and I've had my fair share of fast cars I live in the hills of Missouri with a lot of turns and twist roads that would rival till the dragon but not quite as long. So I like driving back road I don't drive over aggressive I just like to feel like me and the car got a good workout My new RPF ones got pretty good falcon 6:15 on them I ordered the whole set from tirerack I can't remember the size of the tires but it's plenty of tire for the power I make 18x9 front 18 10 rear. I think the falcon is a 300 treadwear I decided to try a new tire I usually run Dunlop direzza star 3 are equivalent. I used to autocross and do track days as well but on autocross I got tired of standing around for 8 or 9 hours and getting three 1 minute runs all day long so I just drive to enjoy myself now

@@SN95Power I rode in two separate cars with a 410 and a 373 next week I'm going to order the 373 I like it better at highway speeds better RPM. The car is definitely a toy and is kept in a garage. I have already ordered koni suspension and was going to go coilovers but I think I'm going to look for a good quality spring. I used the autocross for years but in the import world. It seems like eibachs are way too soft but I don't want to ride like a buckboard wagon either. I guess I'll have to find something in between the two my little Hondas I used to run 450 pound in the front coilovers in 350 in the rear made by a company called progress they make a very high quality coilover for Hondas. I wish I could find a setup like that for my mustang

Something that I don't see a lot of in discussions about how to build is the importance of all the individually uninteresting parts.. like the brake hoses, like replacing all the little christmas trees on a panel, like improving the sound deadener in targeted spots on the car.. and also kind of like what you said not to go full race unless you're really about that full race lifestyle because all that stuff comes with compromises. I get it big noise and big power and big numbers are exciting, there's just not really any adrenaline rush in a video about replacing the lamps over your license plate. It's also easy to show an audience a quarter mile they get the whole story in ten or twenty seconds but how do you show people in a video that your 30 year old car drives like brand new? If I knew the answer to that maybe I'd make better videos 🤣🤣

I don't think you would need a r compound tire. I'm a big fan of the nitto 555. I'm not sure if they make those anymore. Our new edge has Firehawk tire and they are a good tire for its power. No problems in rain

After watching a handful of your videos I'm starting to realize that it's not worth building these cars unless you swap motor or are a die hard fan. At least that's what I'm getting from most of your videos I think it would be easier to buy a coyote engine etc or the year mustang it came out with.
