@InSearchofPhysicalMedia have you got season 2 of halo, I have both 1 and 2 but have noticed season 2 hasn't got the sharp 4k as season 1 master Sargent visor pops in season 1 but in season 2 its dull it looks almost bluray even the mrs could notice the difference, maybe something is wrong with my disks,any thoughts

Wow James, another fantastic video filled with amazing announcements! So many that I would love to get, but for now I went with The Nightmare on Elm Street Ultimate Collectors Edition and Daryl Dixon: The Book of Carol. I was also able to order the E.T. 40th anniversary edition with all the swag before it sold out. I used your links because I truly appreciate all the work you put in doing all the research to bring us all this great information on upcoming 4K releases. This channel is my go to for everything physical media. It seems like the physical media collecting community is growing like crazy. Just looking at your subscriber numbers, if only 5 percent buy a title, that’s like 7500 copies. Just a small percentage of your subscribers could sell out those limited edition print runs. I hope the studios are paying attention and maybe print more of these awesome releases in the future. Thanks for all you do!

But with the news of The “Kickboxer” 4K being a steelbook only release, I am getting annoyed and dismayed with studios “gatekeeping” numerous classic 4K releases in this format. I appreciate that steelbooks are popular, but I personally am not a fan and would strongly prefer a standard 4K release.

So the studios are NOT actually gatekeeping any of these films because they are actually releasing them on 4K💿 just in a different style case & packaging to provide what the massive majority of the market wants in steelbook cases!! So the SteelBook case doesn’t ever change the watchability or enjoyment we have of the films themselves especially when you put the disc in to play the movie on your home theater the SteelBook case it comes in has zero impact whatsoever on watching the 4K specs of the film!! 🤔Now it’s always up to you if you want to buy each film on 4K💿 but that’s just your personal choice & is not the studios preventing you from buying, enjoying or watching these films at home or as you said gatkeeping these films, it would be completely different story if they weren’t actually releasing them on 4K💿 at all then we could say they were not allowing us to buy or enjoy them but that’s simply not the case!! I got Gattica steelbook when it first came out, and got the Denmark release Resident Evil 4k discs in one slim box standard HDR10 as it was cheaper. At the time, that worked out the better choice.

Noticed you've been showing some anime titles which is nice to see. I'd especially love to see you review some, especially Viz Medias releases since they tend to be quite a bit worse than streaming quality, even messing up gamma. Its bad. Even the subtitles are badly done. The Jujutsu Kaisen blu rays frm Viz here in the US vs Streaming then the UK/JP releases are night and day. Would love to have people like you highlight that to the industry to hopefully change or at least inform anime viewers since.. I know now I need to import future releases of JJK for example due to it being handled by Viz here in the US. I'm just glad I got the limited editions here in the states for very cheap so buyers remorse wasn't so bad.

Question about that Resident Evil set. Does it come with digital codes and were the streaming versions updated? Sometimes when a movie is updated, say on Vudu, my digital copy is updated for free.

Do you, or anyone reading this, know why the Elm St collectors edition has a certificate inside stating the number of this LE as being 17,400 units? I'm in the UK, and i just got mine today and have noticed other uk buyers showing this certificate. If it is limited to 4,000, what is this certificate? Also, this was the release i was looking forward to the most this year, and I am really disappointed by the cheap look of this set due to the poor finish on the slip and steel..i am looking forward to watching the 4K later, though:-)

@@goonies_neversay_die352 🤦‍♂️It was just a mistake I made when filming & reading the data on the sheet because I mixed up saying the collectors limited edition SteelBook & ultimate collectors limited edition SteelBook sets both had different print runs that I was trying to explain in this video!! 😉I’m simply human & when filming a massive 2 hour long episode like this that I edited down to under an hour it’s simply bound to happen sometime, but the numbers just simply got reversed in my head when I was reading from the full 6 page long script I wrote for this huge episode because they both have such similar names collectors limited edition SteelBook & ultimate collectors limited edition SteelBook!🤷‍♂️ It can be very difficult for me to make these huge videos covering over 50 titles with all the data & specs!!😜 😉But I always do my best!!👍 😘Thanks for all your understanding & support!!🤟

Thank you very much James for your answer to my point that some studios were "gatekeeping" some 4K releases. I understand and appreciate what you are saying, and for 2 of my all time favorite movies "Taxi Driver" and "Lawrence of Arabia", I did pick up the 4K steelbooks. But unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, my budget for movies on physical media has been reduced and I have to be very selective on my premium purchases, and some steelbooks fall into this category. Thank you again and I very much appreciate your detailed explanation.
