I use Chapstick or Carmex for cracked fingers. Have also used the Vaseline from cotton ball fire starter. Buddy got me some electric socks for Christmas. Haven't had a chance to try them yet. I wear Darn Toughs and other wool socks year round, just thicker ones in winter. All of my winter coats have gloves and hat in pockets. Certain ones have perhaps a neck gator, balaclava or Shemagh inside. That way no matter which one I grab, I stay prepared. My boots also have socks in them.

Very practical information. Thank you again as I'm watching a lot of your vids now! I notice you wear your hair short. I've grown mine long as you'd be surprised how warm hair is. Just something I've learned for myself and sharing with you. Greetings from the PNW.

Beautiful dogs. I joke that my pure bred German Shepard is really a Husky because she absolutely loves winter. 😂 I did make a little wagon for her to pull. Used a bicycle cart as a base. She's gotta earn her keep. Ha

Loved the idea to keep things from freezing by placing them in a cooler. Been doing Canadian winters for over fifty years and have wrapped things in coats and such to keep them from freezing. Hearing the insulated cooler was one of those, "of course you would, it makes perfect sense. Why haven't I heard of or thought of it before" moments.

It’s really good! You can find the more sturdy once in hard plastic. There is also o thinner one that you can find. A soft model made of fabric, isolation and som alu material. It’s always lovely to get this ‘ahaaa’ experience. Why haven’t I done this before. :-) /Matti

Storm De Beul, 22, a nature lover who 'enjoyed being alone', was found dead in Lapland on October 30 after spending much of the year hiking solo through the remote Jokkmokk region. He became caught in a devastating blizzard the night before, telling his grandmother in a tragic final message: 'It's snowing heavily here. But don't worry, I'll survive, you know.' So knowledge about survive in extreme cold is very important if you visiting the wilderness during the cold season. Keep your body warm and keep a cool head is my advice. Your equipment can also make the difference between life and death.

What grease do u use for the boots, I’m new, living outside in Canada and I’m wondering how to not go through so much boots, and they get so wet
@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNAАй бұрын
I have heard so many different ideas about this. One friend wants the fat from bear. He take it like a pice of bacon and rub it on the shoe! I prefer to buy some grease that is mixed with tar. I have tried olive oil but that doesn’t work well. It’s just a kind of emergency solution. :-) So my answer is probably a mixture of melted animal fat and tar. /Matti

Very nice and informative video, thanks. I see you wear wool base layer(knitted), wool beani and wool hoodie, if I am right, instead of synthetics. So, you are very pleased with wool garments.
