@trousers22 жыл бұрын
@@bigben57 I watched that entire video, but it doesn't really change my feelings entirely for a few reasons. Firstly, I think the whole situation can be summed up with the section at 56:10 in that video, 'Murray threatens Nichols'. Murray was/is allegedly taking credit for other's work in an effort to rebuild his brand around his own name and make cars, but as that video also pointed out, Nichols is also doing the exact same thing right now, making his own cars, which leads me into: Secondly, that video looks bad for Murray, real bad. But you've gotta get both sides to something like this man. Things can be slanted or twisted any which way if it's just somebody taking shots at somebody else. What I'd really like to see is Gordon come on that channel and do a follow-up. Thirdly, this is stuff that's 20 years old. Even if Murray flat out did everything Nichols claims and worse, does that mean Murray should never be trusted ever again? Have you never done anything you're not proud of? I know I sure have. How would you feel if people brought it up 20-30 years later as a testament to your character? And fourth, this all has nothing to do with my original comment. My comment was about how Gordon conducted himself in this video, absolutely nothing to do with the MP4/4. When referring to Murray as a gentleman, I was talking about his demeanor. Here you have somebody who really knows his stuff, far more than this Top Gear presenter will ever know, and yet when somebody who knows nothing is talking about his creations, he's patient, and willing to listen. I know he stands to gain from the exposure of these videos but I've seen people stand to gain more and still treat others like dirt - but we don't see that at all here from Gordon.

I’m amazed by the engineering that goes into this vehicle, particularly given the back-of-the envelope business case. 265 million pounds from selling 100 cars but spending 1.3 million just on a machined switch cluster. Imagine the upfront cost of developing all the truly complex bits: monocoque, engine, trans, electrical and mechanical systems. Then a bunch of validation and pre-prod cars! Paying the best engineers in the business! Maybe they’re making a killing on the customization and post-production. Whatever the case may be, there must be some truly masterful engineering, supply chain, and project management moves being made.

I can only duplicate other people's comments so consider this a well engineered and lightened version for the algorithm. What a beautiful masterpiece of tech and engineering with passion mixed in.

It is really really cool to know that I can still have an absolute dream car with the philosophy of: natural aspiration, light is right, and every tiny little haptic bit is important... in today's car market. Sure I'll absolutely never in my life own, drive, or probably see one of these.. but it's nice to dream about perfection.

Why aren’t the Top Gear TV shows anywhere close to as good as the KZbin pieces like this? I’m doing the Euromillions on Tuesday, could Gordon reserve me a slot in the order queue please.

I've been enjoying watching the progress of the T50 project on youtube. It's a work of art. I'll enjoy slightly less now after watching JayEmm's fascinating Steve Nichols interview though.

Always felt it’s too expensive for the yesterday’s technologies that it uses, however I was following the development closely, as it’s the best we can have unfortunately. Now I’m even more conflicted after watching said interview.

The attention to detail, craftsmanship, design quality and engineering prowess is astonishing. How often does one individual have the skills, the reputation, the talent and the work ethic to actually achieve something that touches the sublime like this? On one hand, I'm happy that Gordon Murray gets to design whatever fanciful thing he wants - he always hits it out of the park with his supercars. On the other, I wish he would compromise enough to make everyday cars benefit from the Gordon Murray engineering program. The T.25 never amounted to much, but man would I like to see what Murray could achieve within industry parameters. Also, I'd love to patronize Murray products, and... well, that's not going to happen otherwise, is it? :D

Tbh, I dont really like the rear of the car😬, but that design could play a vital role in achieving 240mph with a 650hp v12😲.

@r129r16pfl2 жыл бұрын
@@F1ll1nTh3Blanks 100% correct 240 was just a byproduct, not a goal. Low downforce, low drag, small frontal area = high topspeed For a relatively modest power.
@srinitaaigaura2 жыл бұрын
The fan reduces drag by about 12.5% or almost the same as turning a Chiron into a Chiron SS. Maybe in the Project Two they'll hide it and use smaller fans inside. Also 15 kg thrust on a car of this size and shape is equal to aero drag at 80 kmph, so not insignficant.

Apart from all the craftmanship ....I am blown away by the low maintenance cost. Recently saw a Ferrari 268 or so at an car trader and he told me the car just had the 12.000 euro's 10.000 km maintenance service.........And not doing so you end up breaking timing belt and destroying 48 valves and more. But he said compared to the Testarossa it was a cheap service as that needed each 6000km new timing belts... I was flabbergasted and asked the friend , for who I checked this 268 , this to be true and he said the 10.000 km interval was indeed correct for the 268 and 6000 km interval for the Testarossa........
@blockstacker56142 ай бұрын
Why the hell are there timing belts in a Ferrari? I would expect a geartrain, or at the very least a chain.
