Although I do agree with you, I also think that Harry put up a pretty decent fight given that this was his first time doing something like this. @@kayamusic5696 They lack way more than that. They aren't even superhero films anymore. Think about what being a Superhero means in the Raimi Spiderman movies - anonymity and sacrifice. In the first movie he learns that he cannot use his powers for himself, and spends the rest of the movies barely paying his bills and and trying to afford a ring for MJ. His foil, Goblin, is a megalomaniac who uses his powers for his personal gain. In the second movie he almost gives it up to be "normal" and pursue love and success. His foil, Doc Oc, loses his love and his success, and becomes consumed by it. He only redeems himself when Spiderman has learned his lesson and confronts him with his own words about sacrifice. Third movie teaches him to give up on revenge after he watches it destroy Harry and Eddie Brock. Each is a personal story of growth and selflessness winning in the end. MCU Spiderman is basically an Avengers employee doing a paid internship where he gets all the cool gadgets he wants, and instead of living up to the ideal of "great power, great responsibility", he's driven by a desire to be like Iron Man, who stopped being a good character ages ago. The Avengers went from a kickass team to basically an NGO discussing eternal politics in Civil War, and now it just feels like a big corporation.
@randomdj91652 жыл бұрын
@@racheddar Exactly. I enjoy the MCU films, they’re fun watches for me, but they don’t have the lessons and character growth that films like the Raimi Trilogy or the Dark Knight Trilogy had. Specifically with Spider-Man, while I did enjoy the films they did, they focused way too much on Iron Man. I like the idea of Tony Stark training Peter, but not when he’s starting out. And while comedy does fit in a Spider-Man Movie, and they removed it in scenes where they should have, none of the lines were memorable. The Raimi and Webb films have so many great lines, like “It’s Pizza Time”, or “It’s my Birthday, now it’s time for me to light my candles”, yet the Holland films have no great lines like this. While Vulture and Mysterio I feel were close to perfect, Vulture actually felt like a Raimi Villain, Peter doesn’t have all of the trials and tribulations we see in the previous franchises. We don’t get to see him lose Uncle Ben and deal with it, Ben was only mentioned once or twice ever, we don’t get to see a lot of him having to deal with bullies and girls, since he spends quite a lot of the movie on a Trip with intelligent people like him who aren’t bullies, and we rarely get to see him have to balance his lives as Spidey and Peter. We rarely see him do something good as Spider-Man that causes Peter Parker to look bad. He never deals with responsibility (at least until No Way Home, which seems to be heavily going into the Great Responsibility side). Also, he got all this advanced Tech way too fast, I hate how much they use that Iron Spider suit. It looks cool, but why did he have to use it in Far From Home? And I want a film that focuses solely on Peter, but in each film he has to get some sort of mentor. In Homecoming it was Iron Man, in Far From Home it was Fury (really Talos), and in No Way Home it will be Doctor Strange. I just hope that depending on how No Way Home ends, this second Holland trilogy melds Spidey into his own hero, not tied into Iron Man, and he’ll actually face responsibility

When Harry threw him through that window...the slow motion, his facial expressions, the audible sound of pain when he went through the window, the gasp when he saw the ring, the physicality of trying to catch it with webs... JFC, that was EPIC. Garfield & Holland, don't have a scene in ANY of their moves, that's as good as this one.

@@teeoh9192 Amazing Spiderman movies had bad plots, but the action was also very good, if not better in some cases. I'd urge anyone to watch them again under a new lenss in the lead up to No Way Home. Andrew did a great job, it's a shame the movies got a bad rep, the actors and cgi were fantastic, it was really just the bloated story with his parents. Toms MCU action feels a lot less visceral from the first 2 spiderman. It's hard to describe why.. I think they don't show enough of Peter web slinging and a lot less lingering shots. That's something Amazing Spiderman did well, the web slinging was crazy good.

To be fair, Eddie had a lot of character. Everything from his camera being a shortcut compared to Peter's from Eddie wanting the staff position even though he's been freelancing for a little while. He goes out for coffee with Gwen once and introduces himself to her dad and calls them a couple. He's arrogant, more charming, and happier than Peter. And when given great power, he can't let it go. This movie is a tragic masterpiece. And only when re-watching it while treating the villains as heroes can we see that none of them are bad people. They just had bad luck.

I am in no way debating about which spider-man is better with this but in FFH peter gets hit by a train, had building debris fall on him, and has killer flying drones made by tony stark constantly chasing his ass firing bullets That seems pretty brutal
@rhettgedies74674 жыл бұрын
@@wilpoel3677 Granted some of the events that happen in Holland Spider-Man are descriptively brutal, they don't seem visually that ferocious or painful. You don't see the new Spider-Man visually getting his butt handed to him by getting smashed against buildings, then thrown through a window, and then getting slashed in the stomach all in 20 seconds flat with no room for recovery. This fight isn't the peak example, but the fight in the first film where he begins to look like Rocky Balboa getting his face smashed in is what I'm talking about. Instead of feeling like a rubber ball getting hit with no real problem, you instead get a feeling that every blow is totally damaging the hero. A fight where the blows are constantly pummeling and weight is felt by both battlers. Visually watch the drone scene and then watch the Doc Ock train fight, this fight, or the original Green Goblin final battle and compare.

The problem is the choreography makes every blow not feel notable. Here in these films, every slam, hit, and strike feels like it moves thing forward and really damages. In the MCU, punch 2 feels like punch 49. Only punch 50 does the trick....because the plot needs it to. Contrast any MCU fight to say...the Green Goblin final fight in the first Raimi _Spider-Man_ film. So brutal and visceral!
