4:35-8:10 Hands down some of the best golf instruction I've ever seen. I've been trying this on the range and the course the last couple of days and I'm just drilling shots in the middle of the clubface - through the bag. For whatever reason, the way you explained this just resonates with me. It'll probably go away in a couple of days, but so far so good!

Great video Clay. Some ideas for future videos that would benefit a lot of folks would be: 1.) how to control trajectory with irons (low penetrating shots, high trajectory for soft landings). 2.) how to intentionally fade/draw the ball. 3.) long and short bunker shots. 4.) controlling pace on long putts (look at the hole while making the stroke). 5.) course strategy, smart decisions. Anyway, keep up the great work!!

I like this video. I like the idea with the 10 finger grip, like a hockey stick. A lot of pressure on the club and the body turns compact. One of my greatest problems this year, lose body control in the swing. I try it directly at the range. thanks a lot.

Hello Clay, great 👍 stuff here! I am in early extension HELL, and nothing I do seems to be working! Gonna try out these drills starting today. One question 🙋 though, in the Slap Shot drill are we to try and make a real swing with the altered low hand grip or just those mini push the ball swings after getting impact position? You don’t really hit one with the altered grip. I am slightly confused 🤷‍♂️. Thanks for all your awesome videos and drills!

Great video.Helps me a lot with pitching too by that I mean bending the knees is critical to rotating the body through the shot using the body turn more than the hands and arms to hit the shot.

Clay, do you typically have any lateral bend/spine tilt at address as you get further up into your longer irons? I start doing that around my 7-iron and am wondering if you do the same. Great videos! Keep ‘em comin’!

The ''Keep left arm close to body'' drill helped me a lot. I lost my swing this year, not sure what happened. Passed from high70s to high80s and sometimes 90s this year, mainly because of driver failing. I could still manage my irons and I have a great short game that saved my ass.I am now back to constant 80s but irons are still left or right, definately not rotating my body correctly and I am finishing in front instead of bringing my club left and inside, and i'm lifting my body up like your showing instead of rotating and pushing.Also, it helped me fix my overswing. Again this helped a LOT on the range so far, need to bring that to the course now. How different your video would be using a driver instead of an iron?
@TopSpeedGolf
@TopSpeedGolf 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. It wouldn't be any different driver vs iron

Excellent video. Question: how much of your left arm should be pinned against your chest on the backswing? I would think that if too much of the arm were applied tight to the chest, the club would be excessively behind the golfer??

Hello Clay, excellent video as usual! I have one question, I am having this doubt for a long time, I dont know which part of the body should I speed up in order to generate speed, the legs (to be open at impact as you show), the lead shoulder (up-back and around), the extension of the right arm, all together, other? which is the main component if exists? thanks in advance.

Hi Clay, Signed up for your yearly membership. Love the lessons. I know its off topic, I was watching a video, you were talking about your Flightscope. Which Flightscope are you using? The meva (500) or the Meva + (2G)? the 2 g is a little much for me, have you used the cheaper version? Would you recommend it?
@TopSpeedGolf
@TopSpeedGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the All Access Club, Monty! Clay uses the X3 out on the course. It's an expensive piece of equipment. He's currently testing the Mevo+ and initial results are positive. He'll be releasing a video soon for this product. If you're looking for a launch monitor to give you ball and clubhead speed, then I'd opt for the PRGR launch monitor. Here's a link to a video on the site where Clay reviews most of the current offerings: topspeedgolf.com/topic/whats-the-best-launch-monitor/ Best of luck! Nate | TSG Instructor

BEWARE: This is an excellent video but it can mess your swing up if done wrong. I was a Division 1 College hockey player and a slap shot teacher, but I have issues holding onto the lag for too long and not releasing the club. There is no release in the slap shot, you're shooting off your back foot throwing your weight forward while slamming down onto the upper edge of the puck with your blade as you compress it. Power comes from width between your hands and the momentum of your "trail ARM". When you do this drill, do NOT start using your trail ARM to push down on the ball like you would a puck. Make sure your trail arm stays bend as he says in the video.

Hey Clay I am heading to the course tomorrow for a longer practice session. I have a question regarding the turn. How soon should you feel right side bend on the downswing? I feel like I’m getting the rotation more and more down but I’m side bending. The club is getting down on the inside but my left shoulder is going up higher than the right shoulder. Should that be happening?

If you de-loft the clubs at impact, aren’t you essentially hitting a 9 iron as though it’s a 5 iron? Isn’t the reason for hitting a 9 iron is to get less distance and more height? If I want a 5 iron, why not just hit a 5?
