I think poppers are good in tight spots near cover where you have to take it slowly. It's good in the heat too. I use them in small waters or tight spots where you don't have a lot of room to reel in fast

Loved this, just one thing, using the popper on top of subsurface grass, makes the bass feel bigger when it dives down and gets grass all on the extra hook 😀. It’s a cheating way to feel like you caught a bigger fish 🐠

Your videos have really increased the number of "confidence" baits I fish. The one big struggle I am having is hook sets on straight fluoro. I have fished from a kayak for over 20 years and while I get good hooksets on braid or braid w/flouro leaders, I lose a lot of fish at the boat when fishing straight fluoro. Any thoughts?

the popping action on the frog isn't as good as the normal popper. but i think the little bubble trail and mini spit give a nice disturbance thats subtle yet more attractive than the regular frog.i know its totally irrelevant i just felt like saying this lol

Do you use barbed hooks or barbless? You seem to have less trouble getting the hook out than I do, I also haven't fished as much but never the less, is it just skill, or are you using a barbless hook? I've since removed the barbs on my hooks and haven't had an issue, and seems way easier to remove... but maybe I'm just doing it wrong? Thanks in advance.

I use barbed hooks, and I’ve been fishing hardcore for 15 years, so I’ve gotten very very good at removing hooks. I’ve got a video planned on how to properly remove the hooks of every type of lure, but I’ve gotta get to the right place to film it

I Can tel that you were young and unexperienced in fishing you said you cannot finish a popper in lily pads are you finish a hard plastic? Popper and heavy cover all the time just you have to modify it to make it weedless just like what a crank bait you can fish is a Topwater, lure and make it weedless I am 50 years old I have 30+ years and fishing you will learn this as you go
