I’m in the Guard and healthcare is 50 bucks a month for full coverage some of the best healthcare you can get in the US. For a family it’s 230 a month for full coverage. No copays. I still have my career and don’t have to use their expensive plan it’s a good feeling. I highly recommend it.

Guys, I am NOT AT HOME in this video! Lol I've seen so many comments asking why I'm wearing a mask at home... This was at a public gym called Ultimate Fitness. The state of Rhode Island has made wearing a mask in a place of business mandatory. The business owners can be fined and shut down for not enforcing it. Agree with the masks or not, it's not my place to get a gym in trouble and honestly, wearing a piece of tissue over my mouth just really isn't a big deal at all to me lol. MOST importantly though - this was NOT a home gym! 😂

Hey man I’m an orthopaedic surgery resident - you should see a shoulder/elbow or sports orthopaedic surgeon about this and get an MRI. These don’t heal on their own unfortunately if it tore from the bone which is the most common situation. Just my 2 cents and I never comment on anything. I get the health insurance issue but they can often get a case manager or social worker to help you get some coverage to get this fixed. You don’t want to wait long. Love your videos though bud! - Orthopaedic surgery resident

Some people tears do heal on its own. Yall just just dont know that because yall don't make money from that. Kinda like doctors who talk down on natural herbs because all they learned about was prescription drugs.

You’re right! Not all tears need surgery. But we base that on what the MRI shows. I don’t make any money on any patients I see in residency so I have no conflict of interest in saying an MRI is a good idea. Hopefully our friend had a partial tear - if not, I’m sure he will let us know in subsequent videos. Hope he heals well!

From someone with a pec tear and in medicine, I would go and get an MRI done and see an orthopedic surgeon. The treatment plan can vary widely depending on the type of tear. If your tendon came off the bone or the muscle tore off the tendon the need and benefit from surgery are very different. If the tendon came off the bone you can get that reattached and expect to return to nearly 100% of your normal strength vs if the muscle tore off the tendon you likely might not need surgery but getting back to 100% is going to be difficult. Also, keep in mind that this a situation where waiting is NOT better. The longer a muscle is torn the more atrophy and granulation tissue will occur.

@@CarlosHernandez-ss2yp hey Carlos, i just had surgery on the 17th of May. I tore my left pec about a yr and a half ago. I didn't have insurance so i just kinda let it be. Yeah it does cause problems down the road. Its all a process once you decide to go the surgery route. I went to see the orthopedic Dr. he scheduled me for MRI. The muscle had fully retracted 7cm from where it attaches To the humerus i believe. Everything feels good after surgery. Idk if i just got lucky with how it tore, but he had 2 options. One was the graft and the other was to reattach. He went with no graft. I know how your feeling it sucks.

I had to go down to the 100 kilos for reps instead after trying to close my grip and eventually doing 210 kilos (very easy tho) with a close grip at 25 yrs old weighing in at the lower 90s. It felt bad because with a regular grip I always pressed 20 kilos more and it took a while before I could do the heavy work again. At a regular grip I did 170 kilos already at 17 years old. Its hard when you want to be the best and for someone chasing PR,s. you can easily lose the drive. I shifted first to a close grip and worked up.to 210 kilos there with a good 10 kilos left but it sucks that I couldnt try to go for the world record anymore, because I wanted to surpass Denis Cieri and the others in the ~90 but after a while you get used to chasing rep PRS also . Having torn a muscle before I can tell you the mindset is the last thing to heal. Trusting the muscle to perform again is scary. Not much can be done to reattach muscle to muscle. If the tendons are the issue he may need surgery. I don't remember my exact timetable but I was back to work in about three weeks from a small calf tear. However, I was still avoiding stairs and really difficult movements. Stretching is definitely an important part of recovery. As the muscle starts to heal the size of the tear will be obvious by simply feeling the scar tissue. I suspect this will change his future training habits. It did for me. I certainly understand wanting to lift heavy tho. The constant competition with yourself is intoxicating. I wish him luck in his recovery.

@ChicagoScorpion
@ChicagoScorpion 3 жыл бұрын
@@AmazingAsif For one, band dislocations, they help with both tight shoulders and pecs. And ever since I've done them (along with more research on fitness and all that jazz), I've stopped having strained pecs and if my pecs do feel tight, I do these along with stretching. I've also gotten into the habit of stretching everywhere including my pecs before and after I work out. Also if you didn't noticed, he went straight from 385 lbs to 430 lbs which is a huge increase in weight just from warming up to going to a work set and because of that, I'm not too surprised he tore his pec though it was probably other factors too. I tend to warm up gradually with any lift (aside from isolation movements which is either straight to the working sets or one or two warm up sets max) and I've noticed when I do warm up properly, even if it takes a little while, my working sets feel better and I don't get as many strains as I used to when I didn't know what I was doing. I hope he gets better though but if I was gonna try the same PR, I would have went from 385 to 395 to 405 to 425 and then finally 430. That's why my last PR attempts with the bench, OHP and deadlift went smoothly (haven't tested my squat in years but I'll get to it eventually)

(Instant) oats, tap water heavy metal overload (tissue calcification), reliance on caffeine, bags under your eyes, retaining lots of water (mineral imbalance)... seems like lots of suboptimal recovery habits brother. May be more rhyme & reason for why that injury happened. As you deduced, lack of attention to mobility is a key factor in the outcome. I highly advise you optimize your hydration, water quality & mineral balance, if that’s tap you’re pouring into your oats. Water & sleep quality is the biggest factor in whether or not your tissues stay healthy, pliable, & do not become calcified. Much love man, been watching you since the start. Bro shit like this goes through my head before a big lift. That’s why I can’t be a power lifter. I keep it to 3-5 rep maxes. I also don’t like benching without safety’s. I can’t rely on a spotter. Hope you get well some bud. I would still get that checked out if I were you. Last thing you want is a permanent injury.

You keep it to 3-5 rep maxes so you think that way you have less of a chance to tore a pec?

Big bummer man sorry to hear. I had a pec tear myself so I know what it's like. I strongly encourage you to see a doctor and determine if it's a full or partial tear and whether you are a candidate for surgery or not. By the sound of it, it's a hearty tear. Don't cheap out if you have the means for medical treatment. It's your one and only body. Best wishes on this journey of recovery.

@@Dynamix15 insurance won't cover a preexisting injury for that very reason. You cant just sign up for insurance when you get injured, you have to be paying into it BEFORE anything goes wrong.. That would eliminate the profit motive for the insurance companies.

Get well soon bro. Just rest it up and you'll be back. Sucks how prone we are to injury at times but you've progressed a lot so your body is just letting you know to relax and take it easy. Hope you don't need surgery. I mean I know it's costly without insurance but you should get an MRI done or something just to make sure it doesn't need surgery. Partial tears usually don't require surgery but full tears, yeah it sucks. Just take care of yourself.

Get well NWB - i had the same experience with 235 lb... Have not been able to bb bench since the injury, which is 4 years ago. Funny thing though, that injury kicked off my love for ohp as it was the only push exercise i could do for many months
