This is such an impactful song and it tears me up every time. Tori sang this song every night for 2 tours if I remember correctly. It is such an important subject and I think it is amazing she put so much of herself in this to raise awareness. You can feel her pain, her shame, her anger and her fierceness all mashed together. Master performance.

Tori still sells out arenas. She has fans from the 80’s plus new fans of the 00’s. She is magical and so, so kind. I’ve seen her live so many times and she takes time to see and hear us. She remembered me from 6 years apart and pulled me aside at a meet and greet. My mom birthed me but Tori raised me

Heard her perform this back then in an acoustically perfectly hall. She was perfect and the only other sound anyone heard was their own weeping. It was so emotionally cathartic to way many of us ☮️She has many amazing compositions and she performed them astonishingly beautifully well .

Not only once but twice this has happened to me. First at 13 was no prior sexual experience and again in my late 20s. Even after much therapy at almost 50 years old, it's something that stays with you. Much love and many blessings to you both. ❤

“Silent All These Years” is a song by Tori that has become a meaningful song for victims worldwide. It’s worth a listen and research. Women all over the world heard the song and related. It’s very special. ✌️❤️

I know this is not the proverbial song to "enjoy" or gush about like the last one (Me and Mrs. Jones) and the lyrics as well as the background might even need to be researched deeply to be understood. But if there is a person strong and brave enough to endure all this and turn it on its head and make her experience an anthem for all people having suffered the same, then it is Tori Amos. The thing with "Jesus" and "them going way back". She meant that this fictious Jesus asked her if she'd rather endure the violation and live or fight and possibly die. Cause unlike he (being resurrected after three days) she would not come back from the second choice. I promise her other masterpieces are NOT that dark. But I sincerely applaud your curiosity and patience to give it a listen. I'll see you with the next (and maybe more enjoyable) one.;)

Nie wyobrażam sobie, ile odwagi zajęło jej napisanie tej piosenki i umieszczenie jej na albumie. Moim zdaniem nigdy nie chodzi o to, co kobieta nosiła lub powiedziała, chodzi o mężczyznę. Skąd bierze się to zło? 😢😢 Pozdrowienia z Krakowa.

I love Tori Amos's work and all her performances, but... this one i have watched once and i can never watch again. Just too difficult for me. I did skip to the end for your reaction though and i do love hearing your words and thoughts.

Not easy, I know. But how else can other people with similar experiences or those like us who don't have them but cannot fathom this atrocity get help and/or learn? I can say for myself that this song at times made me hate myself as a man. But I can also say I am glad it made me feel this way, i.e. shocked, outraged, disgusted, guilty, vulnerable and in so doing helped me on my own journey. Like a lot of other music that has accompanied my journey through life. I welcome all these experiences. To you I say be brave and try it once again when you feel like it. No harm in that. All the best.
