By sheer happenstance I found this channel and because of Tori, I am inspired to pick up a book. My life is so intense right now that all I want to do is sit in front of the tv and decompress by mindless viewing. But after I saw her worst and best reviews of 2020, I want to run to the book store and start reading her recommendations. I think I will start from her no.5 of her top 10 books she recommended for 2020 and work my way to no1 . I highly doubt I will be able to read as many books and as fast as her, but the way she was so excited describing her top 10 inspired me to want to read instead of becoming a vegetable in front of the t.v. Thanks Tori for your dedication to your readers to do the brunt work for us so we don't have to waste our time reading books that leave us feeling empty rather than fulfilled! Your my go-to reviewer from now on!

@@ToriMorrow, thank you for taking the time from your busy reading schedule to respond to me. I honestly appreciate your reviews and am so blown away by your ability to remember so many details from so many books! I used to read a lot, especially Arthurian legends and a lot of fantasy as well, but after returning to school, I don't have the brain power to read beyond what is required of my classes. If you ever want to read a masterpiece in that genre, read Mists of Avalon, it is my most favorite book of all time. I also love Terry Good kind and I just finished reading Neuromancer, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, Life 3.0 and a couple of other sci-fi for an English class I am taking. Anyway, your the best! I love how your brain works and you really are so pleasant to watch! Keep up the remarkable work!

I love your energy! You get me so excited about these books! I just started reading Addie Larue yesterday. EVERYONE says it's fantastic. I can't wait! Same for Poppy Wars. I've heard the whole series is great! That's probably next on my list. My fave this year by far was The Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Great sci-fi. I love a unique and well-told story. My plans for the new year include reading more books. I only completed half of what I read the year before. I also plan to re-read some classics, (including Octavia Butler!). I read many in grade school and college. That was 20+ years ago. It's time for a revisit.

By the way, you are gorgeous. Just had to say that hahahah. I just started reading again after my stroke 8 years ago. I about to finish two books this year (mainly this month). It’s really sad because I used to read so much and hearing you read 73 books this year was so shocking! I am almost done with Under the Knife by Kelly parsons and so far I’m happy it wasn’t first book to get back to reading after all this time. It is so wonderful and sadly I only have 64 pages left. The other book I just finished was Carrie by Stephen King and I loved the original movie so much and reading it didn’t change any of my thoughts. I loved the book and the movie so much. And I’m happy that this is the first video I found of yours and I know I have 9 more books to get! I already have Addie book so I can’t wait to read it. Have a wonderful days though out this year and have a Happy new year!

something i’m noticing in v.e. schwab’s writing is that she’s very imaginative. she thinks up these different ideas and grows and nurtures them over time until they eventually come to life and thus breathe life into us as the reader. i first had this epiphany with her work “this savage song”, book one in the “monsters of verity” duology; which i found to be so brilliant in its characters and who these monsters of verity were born from and what that means for humanity. reading “the invisible life of addie larue” made me further understand how limitless v.e. schwab goes when it comes to her craft, as a story like this feels like something we might already have read before and in fact, it did remind me faintly of “my name is memory” by ann brashares, which is one of my favorite books of all time. what made “addie larue” stand out on its own, however, is that there was such a careful way in how schwab wrote her characters because we were visiting all these different cities and jumping between all these different timelines but ultimately, it was the characters that we tied ourselves to in order to feel grounded. it’s because of this that i wholeheartedly agree with what you said about how it felt like we were with these characters, we were with addie, as she and henry dealt with these heartbreaks and feelings of hopelessness. luc himself made me feel further attached to this story as well because as someone who’s literally the personification of darkness, he also described himself as the “god of promises” at one point in the novel and how these promises came into play when he interacts with addie makes for such an incredible way of storytelling. i just enjoy everything about v.e. schwab’s works, so i loved to see you gush about this one in particular 🖤

First, just want to say this is my first time finding your channel, and already I think you might be one of my top booktubers. I have no problems with any of them that I've seen, I just feel like my reading tastes don't click as well with others(particularly since a lot talk about YA which I'm normally not as interested in), but I definitely feel like I might anjoy your recs more. But also, I have a few of these on my to be read list, and now I'm super excited to get to them. Ah, sigh your list is delicious because a) it is not _all_ 2020 releases and b) it is so varied. Personally, I have no idea how I'd pick just 10 favourites of the year, because overall I had a fantastic reading experience in 2020 - I suppose to make up for how craptastic the rest of it has been lol! As for Queen Octavia and her Earthseed duet (have you read Talents yet? I loved it even more). That is the best dystopian/post-apocalyptic story I have ever read, by far. I read her Xenogenesis trilogy this year, and whilst I thought it just as clever (it is probably even more so really) and disturbing (albeit in different ways), it didn't have the same punch to the gut effect on me. TFS and Happy New Year 🥳

There are a few books from your list that I definitely need to read. I'm glad to have found your channel; I like your style, and the fact that you don't have a ton of YA, which I really don't care for. lol

Great list! Ironically you said 'open your GR' the moment I clicked on the app icon and I was thinking 'yep this lady knows how to remind about the important things!' haha. I added a good few of the books and subscribed while I was here :D looking forward to your upcoming content!

Don't generally venture over to the Booktube side but your energy is infectious! You made me so interested in these books and what you have to say about other books. Keep going. Thank you for beefing up my need to read list.

Just came across your channel! Love your energy right from the start. Immediately put The Passage on hold at my library and added others to my TBR on Goodreads :) I have yet to read The Poppy War! I really need to read that this year! Love your book descriptions and your enthusiasm!
