Fullmetal Alchemist Art Book and Fullmetal Edition Volume 3 Unboxing

Thanks so much for doing this, the artbook is definitely worth it. On your comment about the “extras” in the original tankoubons of FMA, you hit the spot, its the main reason why I’m not buying the Fullmetal Editions. To me, those were part of the manga, especially the section and comments about who died in which volume and such. Glad to hear they’re releasing those separately, although I will have to see if its worth it (I would ideally want to read the extras from volume 1 after I read volume 1). Hope you do an unboxing of that one!! :)

Thank you for the kind words! Yes the art book is so nice to have! I agree! I absolutely love the Fullmetal Editions for the better paper quality and colored pages, but I do miss the extras, that's why I'm definitely keeping my original box set of the tankobans as well. Those bonus gags at the end of each FMA manga are so underrated! Not that I think people need to buy both versions, but at least people can pick what they like best about each version and chose from there. I definitely plan to do an unboxing of that as well when it comes out! Thanks again for watching and commenting!

Thank you for the review! One thing that confuses me though: they will be releasing the 4-panel comics separately, but what will happen to the "gaiden" extras? Which, as far as I know, did not make it into the Fullmetal Edition (The side stories such as "His Battlefield Once More" and the one about Elric family, etc...) I only own the 2nd art book, and my favorites from that are the two-page print of the volume 9 cover, the 2004.12 illustration of Ed without his automail's cover plates and the 2005.09 illustration featuring Ling and Lanfan. The horse-drawn carriage racing a train is an honorable mention LOL.

If the 4-Panel comics are based off of the one released in Japan, the gaidens unfortunately will not be included. I'd absolutely love to see a Viz release of all the side stories one day: the bonus gaiden chapters from the manga, the 3 Profiles book bonus chapters, Chapter 11.5, & Chapter 0 (but that might just remain a fantasy of mine). Ah I love all of those! The carriage racing the train is so fun and good!!
