God was with you. I actually drove through Tuscaloosa once and didn't realize a tornado was close by until I seen people running from their cars and eventually heard sirens. One of the firemen said it was difficult to see because it was wrapped with heavy rain and it was dark. I had the music up and didn't realize I was in a tornado. I try to watch for the weather prior to driving and listen to local radio stations when driving

Daniel. You sir are to be commended. You let the tale tell itself, with the occasional explanation and clarification from you. You kept a full grasp of your emotions while this whole event took place. Comendable by itself. :) That experience emust have ben something else, with all that debres and wind. yet, you handled this whole event with grace and skill. You make it look like its a normal days work for you. My hats off to you mate!

Hey Daniel, chaser Joel Ewing here! I haven't read any other posts yet, perhaps somebody else weighed in on what those long, silver-ish colored tubes are that you saw rolling towards you in one frame, and also at the very end of the video in a big disarrayed pile. Those are irrigation pipes that lay above ground. My uncle's farm in Nebraska had those....he utilized those instead of those big circular-moving "pivot" irrigation systems. These pipes or this type of irrigation system is referred to as "tow-lines". These tubes get places where the farmer/rancher wants them...end to end perhaps....and he'll run water thru them until one spot gets adequate watering. Then, he'll connect his tractor to one end of these tubes and move them a little further on down the line and run water thru these until they've watered what they were intended to water. Yep...."tow-line" irrigation....as opposed to "pivot" irrigation system.

The ending of the video reminds me of a storm way back in 2005. The storm was pretty bad... it lasted for several hours, it was stationary, it had multiple lightning strikes per second, and dumped over 1 metre of rain on the unfortunate town it parked itself over causing flash floods, and destroying roads. Fun times. I watched it from 20 km away safely inside a house... The light show from where I sat was awesome.

I’m really just learning about the weather that causes these events. It dawned in me that hail is like a physical confirmation of how quickly the warm air slams into a cold front and instantly freezes all the moisture and drops it from the sky. I can only imagine that another drastic change in conditions such as instantly desiccating an entire front would only serve to cause an already swirling storm to become much angrier. Does anyone know if the hot air or the cold air usually Carrie’s the most moisture?

I've only seen lightning like that last 30 minutes or so of the video twice in my life...once, a couple years ago in a storm that brought 70+ mph wind gusts, 1"-diameter hail, and about 4" of rain to my area...the other time, April 27th, 2011, specifically the storm that produced the Ringgold, GA-Apison, TN-Cleveland, TN tornado (about which I have a particularly lengthy story...I'll spare most of the details, but I saw the lightning alone from a point about 10 miles SSE of Cleveland and was highly suspicious of the storm...and then 10 minutes later when I left where I was (heading home from mini-vacation) and got to a clearing, I saw the tornado in the distance).

A BIT LIKE THE MASSIVE RAIN COVERAGE OF THE FUNNELS ATTEMPT...INFACT COULD THE CONSISTENT RAIN STOP THE FUNNELS FROM FORMATTING ???... GREAT COVERAGE...KEEP SAFE, YOU ALWAYS JUST DOCUMENT AND HOPEFULLY GO HOME...🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏🕊🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲

It's not on the record books, but in 1989 a friend of mine in Hale Center, Texas had a hole punched in their roof and fell into their living room. They actually had pictures of it and I kid you not, the hail was basket ball sized. It killed many cattle in the area. That same storm system spawned many tornadoes, including one that uprooted trees at an Elementary school right across the street from my house. Also Fort Hood is about 100 yards behind my house. An airfield about a mile from my house also had 11 Apache helicopters thrown around like match sticks. I'm in Killeen, Texas.
