I LOVE that high pitch sound you've got in the background of the whole video. I heard it for 2 HOURS after I watched the video. I think it's done some permanent hearing damage.

There are two gaskets because there is also one on each side of the spring plate. Kicking myself for not watching this video through to the end before my repair since I ran into the throttle rubbing up against the screw. Easy fix with a small file without having to disconnect the carburetor. Overall, AWESOME video! Saved me a ton of $$$. I owe you a beer!

I have the exact same model of the Toro snowblower. I too seem to have the same issue with the carburetor. I saw some oil on carburetor and it is hard to start. Now, I know how to replace the carburetor. I was going to toss the snowblower away. Thank you for your video.

I have the Power Clear which is the successor--essentially the same machine with a new shell and a metal carb. Carb never leaked, but from the start--brand new--the machine sounded exactly like this one --crappy--uneven and often sounding like it's going to stall. The machine gave me no end of problems and never ran right. You can only clean the carb so many times. I replaced it to no avail. No one could fix it. Replaced everything else--even the coil. I like the size, power, and features of the machine so I'm going to give it one last try--ordered a new carb off ebay for $13. I figure for that price I'll take a chance. If it doesn't work, this thing is going off a cliff. Also, Toro's guarantee and warranty is worthless. Guaranteed to start in 3 pulls, I believe. It was always like this--5, 6, 7 pulls. Of course they didn't honor it--whatever problem you have, they claim it's bad gasoline. I bought an old, used, cheap MTD (with the Tecumseh 850 engine) as a backup. First pull every time. Hums along like a dream.

Great video!! really want to extend to you a big thank you for discovering the governor spring hitting the bolt causing high racing of engine. I had the exact same problem on my Toro snow thrower when I replaced a metal carb from the plastic carb. I realized that the plastic card must sit higher than the metal carb , which in turn would cause the hitting on the manifold bolt. . Thanks again

Nice video that is very helpful. I have a TORO CCR 3650 MODEL 38518 with a plastic carb just like yours. But someone doubled up the large gasket because it appears the bottom bowl section is warped.. This carburetor is obsolete.. What is the carburetor number that you show as replacement in your video. Thanks for the good video...

Excellent eal life video. My Toro CCR2450 on cold engine floods really easily on 2 presses of the primer bulb, then it won't start for a good long rime until the flooding clears up so I have to wait to clear the driveway. If I choke it on cold start and don't push the primer bulb at all it starts after 4 pulls. Maybe i'll try just one short quick primer bulb push for a quicker start with fewer pulls. Anybody have the same issue. I love the machine. It's small but does a great job and folds away flat in the summer.

Thats what mine is doing, that plastic bit is hitting that screw. Sounds like it going to take off, I'll try trimming it down.

I filled my blower up the other day. It all leaked out and wouldnt start. Is this carburetor or the actual gas tank. Always started with 1 pull. Not anymore. Any thoughts?

I had the same problems with a aftermarket ebay carb for a stihl blower, but had to return it because it was totally different. Don't want that happening again. Where can I get a toro carb for a Toro Power Clear 221QE #38584 ? Thanks

16:40 This is EXACTLY WHY you should ALWAYS buy the EXACT ORIGINAL REPLACEMENT PART, SO that it will FIT and FUNCTION like it's SUPPOSED TO. Oh....and you should've cleaned the CRAP off of the choke lever to keep all that gunk AWAY from the opening of the carburetor.

i just bought one on AMAZON. cheap Chinese junk. leaks gas worse than the original carb. JUNK !!!
