Toro TimeCutter Max MyRide: Is it Worth it?

Very nice review. I went to my local Toro dealer three weeks ago to get a Timecutter with MyRide because we just purchased a new home with 3+ acres to mow and as I approach 70 years old, I didn't cherish the thought of being jostled around for hours on my lawn tractor mower. Dealer had last year's Toro Titan with MyRide on closeout at a very attractive price so I ended up with an upgrade. I've used it twice on my current property just to try to get familiar with it before I move and even though it does the whole lawn in a little over ten minutes, I can sure tell the difference in comfort.

We just upgraded to a Toro with MyRide this year also - night and day difference between that suspension and our previous machine that did not have the suspension.

3 acres might be much for this little ztr over time. Likely has a ezt 2200 transmission which is the lowest grade trans and is non serviceable.

I have problems with the deck hanger chains. They have a tendency to get tangled up. When one tangles, it results in a badly uneven cut. It used to do it every time I mowed, but I greased the chains and they get tangled less often. They're a pain because I never know when it will happens, and sometimes I don't notice. Rounder chain links would help, the ones on my mower are too oblong. I think I will add dye to my gasoline so I can watch my fuel level. Hope it doesn't stain my tank!

@Bob_Adkins are the chains twisted at all? I ran this by my dealer and he was baffled. Could not imagine how this could happen.

@@WorkshopAddict When the deck bounces on rough ground, the chain gets slack. Once there is slack for a fraction of a second, they can get twisted and hung up. The rough ground is caused by 3 or 4 different critters that like to dig in my yard.

I've come to the conclusion that once I get a bigger yard I'm either going to get a commercial stand on or a smaller commercial zero turn. I think they are built better and will odds are last alot longer. I agree with you however to go to a smaller dealer that would probably be the best bet all around.

@@jtom342 Have to step up to their Titan to get 5 gallons. Not sure about Timecutter Max, but I think it’s still 3 gallons

@howardbauer2158 i can't answer your question. Kubota makes all kinds of models. This is a low end model and would compare to low end kubota models. You would have to be more specific.

Is anyone getting a lot of vibration in the control arms? I narrowed it down to the engine and not the deck. My fingers are getting numb after about an hour.

For $4k+ it should have an hour meter already, hell my $1600 Cub Cadet has an hour meter, should also have a fuel gauge for $4k+....granted my Cub Cadet lawn tractor doesn't have a fuel gauge either, but you simply lift the hood and can see how much fuel is in it. Way too much money for the lack of what should be standard features in a zero turn....they wasted a lot of money on that nonsense suspension system, and left out stuff that is far more important in operation and maintenance.

That suspension system is amazing. Especially in my bumpy uneven yard. Don’t need a fuel gauge, I just top it off every time I mow. Though I do agree about your thoughts on the hour meter. My dealer installed one free of charge though.
