As a Toro dealer it's important that you shut off the mower at full throttle to eliminate back firing....which over time will take out the head gasket. :)

I work for a Toro dealer as a small engine specialist, the only thing Ive had a lot of repairs from hitting object or running over object. Just watch mowing around gumball and pine needles , keep the deck cleaned after mowing and blow the air filter out too. Have a 05 hr service [brake in ] and youll be good to go. Its like a automo keep the oil changed run for ever

Thanks for the video, I’m currently considering one of these. Note that Toro redid the MX line for 2019 and the 5050 doesn’t have the 2800 transmission anymore. Bummer.

Grass cuttings for a compost box on open soil. Worms will come running to lay eggs in. Same for tossing into chicken run. Same worms come in, but also other bugs under the clippings for those clicks. Otherwise, pile the clippings, and put in potatoes. Excellent loose clippings compost spud maker. Worms and bugs also come.

I'm so glad i went with the cub cadet zero turn with the steering wheel. I think it is much easier and safer on hills. Also you can drive with one hand on the wheel and the other on a nice cold beverage.

The rope on the guard is for pulling the guard up so you can park the mower on the trailer without busting off the guard, not so much for grass cutting

Watch a few videos and pay attention to how the professionals do a 3 point turn. It really cuts down on tearing up the grass. I really like Saving Green Lawn cares videos. He explains things well and he’s a nut.

I have a toro mx4250 I bought in 2015. It has been a great mower. However, the toro engine does not offer any specs online for valve adjustment. It is a big guessing game to work on. I saw a toro dealer posted to turn off at full throttle to eliminate backfiring or after firing. YES! Or let it run st low idle for a bit. Also the front 360 wheels are not grease capable, poor quality for the price tag. If you blow a head gasket they are easy to replace just don't mess with the valves unless you know what you are doing.
