YOU two knuckleheads should of made the critter mesh TAUGHT and then finished the job. Then the bubble wrap would look really professional. Speaking of professional the fiberglass insulation installers were really ASSH*LES. That is just a FORKEN FACT that the installers were called CUNT TRACTORS. They should of been wiped tarred and feathered and run out of town. That is the normal types you get today. Peace vf. Happy New Year too.

I have a small house in cold area. I just layed this across the entire floor joists underneath. Then seal taped any seam even though I shingled them like couple inches. Today the floor was warmer for sure.

You should get an FLIR camera. It would have been ideal if you took photos using FLIR camera before and afterwards. Thanks for the video

I am not an expert in thermodynamics, but after all the rabbit holes I’ve explored on the topic of warming the living space when there’s an exposed crawl space, I can see why the foil is so effective. My biggest takeaways: 1. Hot air is always LEAVING to where it’s colder. The primary method of doing that is: a) convection: air movement through gaps B) conduction: temperature movement through solid materials. Ie: interior side vs exterior side of doors, windows, walls. Some materials have better conductive properties and easily transfer the hot to the cold. We also have the air stack effect where hot air rises while cooler air sinks. So we end up with the warmest air escaping out through all seams and surfaces above the floor. It’s escaping either quickly without much barrier or slowly through conduction. All the warm air lost out through cracks or porous materials is pulling in new air molecules behind it to Maintain equipment. Most of warmth is lost through the roof and windows / doors while most of the cold is comes up through the floor, under door sills, etc. The foil will slow the movement of cold air coming up. And it employed the 3rd way of temperature motion is radiation. It will radiate the warm side back to wear it came from.

My buddies cabin has both windows and the door on one side. The "deck" is hinged and is pulled vertical to cover/ protect that whole side of his cabin. Literally operates like a drawbridge on a castle with a battery powered winch.

This is how not to install foil, that should go on the warm side which would be just under your floor. You’ve basically stopped all air flow to your joist. The warm air from above will travel through the insulation hit the bubble, condense against the cold and form moisture which will be trapped, this will then rot your joists. You need to either remove the floor and run across the top of the joist leaving the bottom of the joist open to air or remove the old insulation and wire and staple it under the floor leaving the joists open.

8 years after this video… Imagine now? 🇨🇦I can. 3 years ago I moved out of the city I was born in and called home for 49 years. I had become the stranger there. My Mom had lived in her house for the last 30 years and she was almost the only non-Muslim family left there! These neighbours were spray painting properties, letting their numerous, very young children run around all over. They didn’t seem to be being taught to respect other people’s property and would walk right onto my Mom’s property. They didn’t care if they threw a ball and it hit her parked car. She’d see little boys being left to do whatever they wanted and never made to listen to their mothers. In the Walmarts here not only are. 95% of the workers East Indians and middle easterns, but so are the shoppers. First it began on one end of the city and then spread to the opposite end. I felt like I was a tourist in another country. After Mom passed away, there was no reason to stay. We packed up and bought a house in a small town. Our new town is like things were back in the 70’s. They are beginning to expand it though and of course, it’s only a matter of time when we will again feel pushed out. As these immigrants live among themselves because they feel secure and more comfortably familiar with those who understand their own culture, so too do we.

When I used to live in NJ I had a fig tree for the summer and before winter would come we dug a hole filled it with dry leaves wrap the tree with roof material and heavy duty plastic bags and it would survive the winters.

I've seen his POV and he has a completely different perspective on this. His story is on Kapper Outdoors. He claims to have put the access in himself and wasn't there prior to his ownership of the land.

My only concern is that if that road is a new development to the property and is clearly not on your land you may not have a right to use it. I don't know about easement laws but I'd certainly look into it.
