Great to hear you’re enjoying flying along with us. Ian is a great instructor, so I’m sure you’ll be well prepared for your written exam. If you see me around the airport, be sure to say hi!

@ , thanks. The video from St. Thomas to London should be a good one for you as well. I know when I was at the beginning of my learning I could’ve used all the ATC help I could get.

Great video for PPL students learning the procedures, especially in the Toronto Airspace! Since earlier this year, Toronto has not accepted air tours or random cross country flights to/from the City airport. Hope to make it out one day soon!

I’m glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully it helps to alleviate some of the fear that many of us have going into a big city airport for the first time.

Local advisory for CYLS while you’re overhead St Thomas is hilarious

I know. Usually when you hear someone from there, it’s a jet at a fairly high altitude. We also hear jet aircraft from a few airports in Ohio as well. They can be pretty annoying as they tie up the frequency ordering fuel, catering, etc.

DashPort. Porter changed their Q400s to that call sign now that they have jets.

I know, but that’s just a weird call sign to me. What’s the significance of using “Dashboard?”
@chrisvickers12623 ай бұрын
But it’s not dashboard its dashport.
@skyhawkadventures93743 ай бұрын
@@chrisvickers1262 , is that what it is? I’ve probably heard that call sign 100 times and always thought it was Dashboard. 🤷♂️ DashPort makes more sense, but just leaving it as Porter makes even more sense to me.

I fly in and out of the island often with my DA 40.

@@skyhawkadventures9374 The Embraer pilots use the callsign "Porter" but from what I understand because they are under two separate OC's (Operating Certificates) they're required to have 2 different callsigns.
