Unfortunately far too many things are made in China because companies have put labor savings over quality. Those savings in labor force costs have gone to increasing the Corporate Leader salaries. In 1970 John DeLorean was the CEO of Ford and making about 20-40 times what the workers were making now the CEO of major automakers are making what 40 million which is what 400 times what the autoworkers are making. It's asinine.

I'd love for you to take a look at the BMS WalMart is using on these, compare to others. I grab batteries at the recycler to recover cells, have found a bunch of Dyson packs with perfect cells, but a locked BMS. Found 1 Hypertough pack so far, charge level looked ok, but upon inspection some cells were at 2 something volts and some 4.7. Yikes. Also have seen this with several B&D 18v packs with some cells (or cell pairings in bigger packs) at 0-2v while the rest of the pack is balanced and fine, without the way overcharged cells. Have seen Milwaukees that are out of balance, but rarer to see one that far off unless it's been battered/water damaged. That one Hypertough looked like it'd never been used which made made me wonder. Of course flukes happen too.

Even if you already own an impact, this thing is cheap enough to buy for people who were already able to afford a name brand impact just to leave in your vehicle for lug nuts. An absolute bargain!

I've been very happy with most of the Hyper Tough power tools I've purchased in the past few years. They're not always perfect, but for the price, they're nearly always a good value.

I recently bought the hyper tough 12v driver battery and charger for $20 and boy was I surprised, first the build quality and weight just feels like an actual tool and not a toy. I find myself using it more than my m18 because of its smaller size I replaced my porch light in no time and reinforced my wood fence by putting 4" screws with no issues. It is a brushed tool but for $20 it already paid for itself many times over!!

great to see a budget friendly option. as a professional im sticking with the variety and quality of the red and the yellow but this new hypertough stuff is definately going in the back of the truck and now is most certainly deserving of its spot in any DIYers garage, very cool

I just walked into Walmart looking to pick up the mid torque, thinking I mostly just wanted the battery and charger to release the power of the 20v compact. Figuring $48 for the battery by itself and $20 for the charger, basically, the tool was $10 more. However, I found a 20v cordless grinder with 4ah battery on clearance marked at $47. A dollar less than the battery. $31.50 at the register. With the slow charger, but I can still get the fast charger later. Tldr: check the clearance section for discount batteries with free tools.

This is a smart move, I picked up the compact kit a week ago and I have already used it on 4 tire changes (I do roadside assistance) and although it works, I’ve been having an issue where it will only hammer for like 2 seconds and I have to release and pull the trigger over and over until it actually breaks the lug nut free, I wonder if this is because of the 2.0ah battery?
@mountainman97118 күн бұрын
@dubsnmotion is it the "auto off" feature? The reverse button opposite your speed/ power selector if you push that, it does weird things. Sounds like in reverse, you want no green lights illuminated.
@dubsnmotion18 күн бұрын
@ I should have mentioned that! But yea, no that option is not on. I thought that at first too and made sure it was off!

torque test channel- i'm so glad you did this video, money is tight for me, been curious about the hyper tough tools based on prices for some time now, i need some more tools like in this vid, wanted to buy their impacts and others but was very skeptical about buying them, now with this vid, you made my decision to buy them after all, they also have a string strimmer i want as well. thank you very much. great video. 😀👍

@@TorqueTestChannel Based off of a few linear torque metrics? I'll partially agree with you just from the fact that we've seen Milwaukee perform cost reductions with their products and I wouldn't even touch a 4th-generation impact driver with a ten-foot pole, but I know that wasn't taken into account. Poking fun at Milwaukee is definitely fun at times, but it's not that simple and it's a shortsighted approach. Again, let's see how this tool does over time, and perhaps against other budget-friendly options like a comparable Skil - or fill in the blank.
@TorqueTestChannelАй бұрын
Hey there's nothin' linear about this torque testing! Nah but I agree, there's a lot more that goes into these tools than beans. We'll see how they do long term
@EDVERSiTY_DECOMАй бұрын
@@TorqueTestChannel Oh, I don't mean "linear" as in generic; some people use that as an insult, but rather very straightforward and simple. Thank you for the reply. Also, we need some TTC merch, good sir.
@TorqueTestChannelАй бұрын
@@EDVERSiTY_DECOM Ahh no worries. I only meant it as in drills make linear torque, impacts make interrupted dynamic, non linear torque. We removed our merch after the sites carrying it got hounded by big brands not happy with us and their legal teams when listing our rankings there.

Wow. What a performance. If I didn't object to getting another battery line and another kind of charger, I would probably pick one of these up. I've realized when I need something more than my current line of Kobalt will do, I turn on my little air compressor and hit it with my old snap-on air impact.

That pricing is insane! Really shows you how much some brands are gouging you for similar made overseas options. There is a reason I buy DeWalt over Milwaukee and only when it's on crazy sale. Milwaukee pricing is insane! I still go for M12 though, but again only when it's on a great sale.

I have a gen1 impact driver for over 3yrs and it has literally broken in half and still works. I find I use it more than my 1/2 DEWALT xr when doing mechanic work.
