By the sparks flying off of those brakes, I'll bet they don't stop worth a fuck now!

I know this was a torture test lol and a good one...but I just wanted to confirm, I think you guys were part of an article with a few other brands and noted that letting the rotors cool off naturally was better for the rotors rather than trying to rapidly cool them with water?
@Bench_mark_1132 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think that was to show how durable they are. NEVER dump water on a hot rotor, it will warp them instantly.

NEVER EVER pour water on really hot disc brakes I understand that you guys probably know not to do that but the people watching maybe don’t know that

Why is no one making 2.5 mm rotors for ebikes and escooters most of them will upgrade to the magura mt5e and thoes breaks can even fit a 3mm rotor if u put the correct pads in the breaks or even with the stock pads no rubbing and some people install hope breaks witch can fit 3.5mm break rotors witch warp much less and heat up less because of their thickness
@Parabler Жыл бұрын
If rotor heat is a problem and more metal needs to be used to fix it then it is much better to keep the same thickness and just get a bigger diameter rotor
@Maykay1312 Жыл бұрын
@@Parabler yes i know only problem is i cant fit a 180mm rotors on my electric scooter and my breaks heated up to the pint of break lever going to the handlebar after just a couple of accelerations and hard breaking from 50-60km/h to 0 km/h and thats with 4 piston breaks im planing on using maguras when i upgrade my breaks they can take on heat much better than the current ones reason i cant fit 180mm disc is because if im leaning into a corner the 180mm disc will touch the ground while the 160mm will not
@Parabler Жыл бұрын
@Guccione That sucks I didn't even think of that as a problem since I only have an ebike with 203 rotors. If you have a belt sander you probably could sand two rotors down to 1.5mm then bolt them together to make 3mm although that would be very time consuming I'd imagine. You could add small 12v turbo fans to help cool them although they'd probably take up too much space especially with a 12v battery somewhere. Adding high power regen braking would probably be the best solution if you haven't already got it or stick a heatsink to your calipers which I have tried before with a mixture of jb weld and copper powder which worked surprisingly well
@Maykay1312 Жыл бұрын
@@Parabler i will definitly try that heatsink hack sounds promising i have since found a 3mm 160mm disc from the kabbo wolf king gt thats the stock rotor on it its very cheap for what it is
