Tory Minister ends call after being pressed on source for Labour 'tax rise' claim | LBC

After Rishi Sunak went head-to-head with Keir Starmer in the first debate of the General Election campaign, Ben Kentish speaks to Conservative Veterans Minister, Johnny Mercer, and presses him on the Tories' claim that Labour will 'increase taxes'.
It comes as Sunak repeatedly accused Starmer of planning to raise taxes if he becomes Prime Minister.
Sunak levelled a claim at the Labour Leader that he would increase taxes for the average household by £2,000 - with Starmer rubbishing these accusations as "garbage" and based on faulty calculations. Labour Shadow Cabinet member Jonathan Ashworth later said the claim was "absolute nonsense".
