@salt-team-six5883 definitely. Just depends what you're planning to catch with them. I grew up being told they're one of the best shark baits, cause they're hella bloody/oily. Goliath (and other) grouper, I'd assume tunas and things would munch em too. But inshore? Probably just sharks

The first time I came to Florida (mid 00s), my lady caught the jackpot fish on a cattle-car charter out of Ft. Lauderdale. It ended up costing more for the Restaurant to cook our filets than to order off of their menu. Lessen learned. At least the jackpot $$ paid for most of the cost for the day.

Fishing right in the American Spirit’s slip. My favorite party boat in the Destin harbor. Can anyone just come fish in front of AJ’s like that? I go down from Texas to stay on Okaloosa island a couple times a year. I stay at the el matador which is the last condo on the island before you hit the stretch of beach that the military owns that goes all the way down to Navarre. I usually fish that stretch of remote beach. I always have great luck there. But if anyone can fish the harbor like that I’ve gotta give it a try. Keep pumping out the content sir. I came back from Key West with a couple of Jack Crevalle filets. I watched a couple of KZbin videos about the best way to cook them. They all fried the fish. Honestly, it tasted horrible. I found the two best ways to cook Jack Cravelle are (1) confit it. Dutch oven filled with duck fat at 200 degrees or less; and (2) sous vide it. Vacuum seal the fish and submerge it in a water bath at 139 degrees. Both methods produce good tasting fish out of otherwise lousy tasting fish.
