@@SpreadJoyAndTheWord he chose those IN HIM. It does not say he chose non believers to be in him, but that he chose those who were already in Christ. And, once you are IN CHRIST, you are chosen to be holy and blameless. It does not say we are chosen to be saved. This is not about how one gets into Christ, but rather about what happens to someone once they are in Christ. And if you are reading your Bible in order and being a good Berean, you would read Romans 8:23 where Paul defines adoption to sonship as receiving our glorified bodies. God the Father had a planned Center on Christ the only elect individual before the foundation of the Earth. The father was looking at his son, and chose to save those who would be in Christ. Calvinism twist Ephesians to be a very man centered gospel. We should reject Calvinism and keep Christ as the center.

Men sin continually so if you think you can do anything good without God and you'll know what's good or not, then you are making the same mistakes as Eve eating the fruit in order to know good from evil. Men are depraved and unable in the sense which he's speaking

Yes and this doctrine is not on the bible,It was a personal interpretation of Luther.None of the apostles hold this as true otherwise they wouldn't call the converts to sainthood

I disagree. When we examine several chapters of Romans as well as Ephesians chapter 2 we find great biblical bases for what He is preaching here my struggle with with so-called “Calvinist doctrine" began with limited atonement the idea of predestined election and Christ dying for the elect alone those who are predestined to receive faith and be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:29-30) But from God’s perspective, he chooses or elects, or predestines his people for his own glory so that his saving purpose will be manifest in them. It’s when we pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in reading and studying Ephesians and Romans that we can start to see the pattern the Holy Spirit was revealing through St. Paul the depth of the truth of it and it may honestly be a hard pill for many to accept but we who accept God’s sovereign will is absolute and good in his sight and righteousness Are humble by whatever is good according to His Will and desires and the God who is sovereign and master over all.

Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: The better term is the falling of mankind. Look, man is still very clever and become as one of God, but in nature man already sinned and died spiritually. Man cannot gain salvation by works but by Grace of the Lord alone through Faith and repentance in Jesus Christ alone. Someone is Chosen if he/she is IN CHRIST. We are IN CHRIST by Grace through Faith. The teaching of Unconditional Election is not Biblical. There is a condition: IN CHRIST! God had chosen Christ in eternity so whoever In Christ..then he/she is the chosen one also. The right teaching of The Bible is: God's Sovereignty and Man Free Will. Man has to choose/decide by free will whether to accept Jesus Christ as God and Savior..or to reject. It is man's Free Will..even God's Grace can be resist..not Irresistible Grace.. Our God is Loving God.. Love is based on Free Will.. Not by force or dictatorship. God bless

Humans are the image bearers of the divine. Christianity is the story of divine accomplishment and human choice, not achievement. Not being able to see it as combination of both is ridiculous, its like saying atheists can't have morals, just plain wrong. Its actually heretical to suggest salvation isn't available for all. We all know that God knows the end from the beginning. But the entire idea of the elect is so warped. We are the elect because we chose to put faith in Christ joining God's chosen people, becoming the restoration of the nation of Israel. None of us are special, we just humbled ourselves and gave our lives to Christ.
