This isn’t so much a tie to Chris and Chef, but I did just remember a very important plot detail of TDA. TDA had a special Aftermath show every few episodes to catch up on the booted contestants. A very important detail that quickly made itself apparent was that Geoff was becoming Chris. He was torturing his friends by threatening to drop anvils on their heads and give them the electric chair! All of this was blamed on the producers of the show, but I call bull! Geoff was the nicest guy in TDI, so seeing him become THIS is just not possible. Perhaps it’s because Geoff is now a host. Maybe being the host of a reality show comes with the price of a horrible disease. That’s really all I’ve got, but I thought I’d bring this detail up. Good luck on Part 3.

One thing I noticed while re-watching the series is that you can actually pinpoint the moment when Chris went from slightly sadistic game show host with a steadily declining mental health to full blown sociopath who lives to see teenagers suffer. He's never been a good person, however throughout the first two and a half seasons hes never shown to specifically put campers in danger and I don't think he wants them to die (injured maybe, but never anything too fatal). He even makes remarks in the earlier seasons about how some of the more dangerous challenges were tested first to make the contestants feel better. The big change happened at the end if season three (world tour) when Sierra blew up the plane. He cant seem to cope with the loss and I think something (probably the only shred of humanity he had left) just snaps. We can see the change almost immediately as he begins to treat the remaining contestants worse than ever before for the final challenge. Things really pick up in the next season though when he gets an entirely new cast of teens to torment. He completely abandons any redeeming qualities and starts to purposefully put the new contestants in harms way just to satisfy his own craving for violence. He stops testing the challenges altogether and as time goes on he seems to try and make each one deadlier than the last. I actually have reason to believe that the entire season of All Stars was just him gathering every contestant who he thinks has wronged him in the past and then he just uses the game show as a front to straight up try and kill them off as inconspicuously as possible, or at least make them suffer as much as he can before they get booted off. However, that's just a hunch and I don't really have any evidence to back it up yet.

Maybe Chris was once Spec-ops. You said his craziness developed later in life, maybe he was in a unit with Chef as Well. That would make sense why Chef would put up with Chris as those who fought together tend to form a deep sense of brotherhood. And If they were special forces, that might explain their ties with Area 51 and how to either build or acquire the death traps from the show. Also, If Chris was in the same unit as Chef, he would have been there when Chef was forced to shoot a child solder, and maybe Chris was forced to kill one as Well, and unlike Chef who felt remorse, Chris developed a taste for hurting kids.

Anyone remember the season 2 episode centered around disaster movies? Specifically the part where the contestants were stuck in a room slowly filling with water. Chris couldn't get the water to stop and was actually worried about the teens safety, and Chef just sat there and acted as if he didn't care. Going by your theory, it is odd that Chef didn't seem to show anything other than indifference when Chris was obviously worried. Maybe Chef was testing Chris and had full confidence that Harold would pick the lock while having a back up plan just incase things went too far south. I don't remember much of that episode, so maybe Chris was just worried about getting sued or something if the kids died. I remember the fear of being sued in that episode was the case when he let Owen enjoy the reward with the winning team after his injury.

From the military episode, Chef claims that Chris is off to some awards show. It makes me wonder if he was actually going to be psychologically evaluated and the trophy Chris had upon return actually contains medication for him. Some parents lie to kids or pets to get them to do what they want. Perhaps Chef told Chris it was an Awards Show so that he would go to his appointment. That's a bit absurd, but I feel it adds to the evidence you had compiled. Also, for the "Chris is evil" bit, during the Reunion special for the first season, Courtney found out that the island was fake, hidden behind a restaurant. Perhaps the island is actually Chris' home in disguise and he's under house arrest. Chef was probably assigned to him as both a caretaker and to recover from his own PTSD. Again, I know it's absurd, but that's why it's a theory.

Perhaps Chef had killed Chris's family in war, such as if Chris had a sibling that was brought in from a draft and Chef somehow killed them one way or another, or perhaps Chris had a family member of any sort tied with Area 51 and that kind if military power. It would explain his ability to hundreds of dangerous weapons, bombs, missiles, guns. Everything. Maybe Chef had done something to his family to mess Chris up, and therefore had to protect him since he was the only "friend" Chris had left, even though Chef was the one to destroy his mind by somehow killing one of his family members when they were brought into the draft

Another instance that shows chef being he’s “caretaker” is when he makes Chris show emotion when he tries to leave. To better explain there was an episode where chef told Chris he was trying to leave and despite Chrises best efforts in the end he realizes he needs chef and they make up. Only after Chris showed emotion

Upon considering the instance where Chef picks Chris up I've thought about times where Chef seemed kind to Chris. Also, they said Chris needed to be around people he loved. Now, who has he been around other than the ever-changing contestants and his interns? Chef. I've come to the theory that Chef is not only his caretaker but also one of his allies from a war. @@jacobd5605 by the way, what do we classify as Harold's stereotype, he isn't particularly extreme and at worse he might be called a dork by some. he actually has a diverse set of skills and only ever acts out rarely in a form of revenge. most people don't even care for him and he strait up only judges people who directly harmed him even giving season 1's "villian" a pass. As for Gwen, remember in all-stars where she is constantly labeled as a villain despite her protests (especially by Chris) and actively stresses her out, their might be more to this but I have no idea.

About him getting arrested, it the beginning of season 4 "Revenge of the Island", it was pointed out that the island was rented out to a company during Action and World Tour. It wasn't Chris who dumped the waste, yet he gets arrested for it. (Last seen of season for is Chris getting swamped with cops, with them acknowledging the waste.) I don't think this could connect to the theory, but just something I never understood.

I actually have a theory remember when you said Chris isn't the type of person to go to war it got me thinking what if Chris actually went to war with chef being his commanding officer it does explain why chef always gets superior during war stages in one episode he even made the contestants call him chef master chief so maybe Chris psychopathy started there and how you mentioned that chef used to kill teenagers in war so did Chris but he developed a taste for torturing them and went off his rocker and this might have also caused chef to take him in

Well, there is the fact that Chris didn't mess with any of the equipment the contestants would use in a way that's too dangerous. Chef probably prevented Chris from messing with various equipment that could easily kill the contestants by crushing them to death and/or causing death via head trauma. Sure, traps like the coach/bear-trap is allowed, but that's because 1) it wouldn't be immediately fatal, and 2) losing an arm or leg doesn't mean you're going to die. It'll hurt, but you can be medically treated to survive. Examples: the glass coffin for Gwen's phobia challenge (all you'd have to do is loosen a few bolts and Gwen would be crushed to death by that coffin once inside), any bungee cords, any pressurized guns other then a water gun, any parachutes, etc.

I call it that Chef served in Vietnam, based on your points that he was probably in the military at a young age and that mainly college-age males were drafted into Vietnam. My theory on how they met: Remember total DramaRama? That was clearly previous, Ezikiel is normal and they’re all kids. Later in the show chef was entered into a competition hosted by none other than our favourite socio/psychopath, Chris McLean. Clearly they met after the show, and when Chris wanted to make Total Drama Island, clearly his first choice was chef. Then the producers asked chef to comfort Chris, help him calm down. But due to chef having to be equally as sociological, he ended up driving Chris too mad the producers sacked him ON THE SPOT. Therefore being replaced in Series 6, The Ridonculous Race. There’s nothing hellish, just Chris being drove mad and temporarily scaring the produces into following, until they finally gained the courage 5.5 seasons later.

Chef's entire part in this, Chris' tie to the military, Chef's possible diagnosis, a re-diagnosis of Chris, and more times Chris/Chef are cruel. Those are the things I added on. As I say at the end however, it only FEELS like little was added because the base theory is essentially being updated.

Okay, I'm sure your not a kpop fan (or maybe you are?) but HEAR ME ON THIS. Theres this kpop girl group named loona(LOOΠΔ), they're pretty confusing at first but basically its a whole 12 member group divided into three sub-units. The three sub-units are 1/3, OEC, and yyxy. Also each member is assigned a color and an animal that represents them. Each member was introduced periodically and each released solo singles. The music video on these singles are filled with symbolism and their description states that the mv is happening in their "loonaverse". Fans have been trying to figure out what "loonaverse" really is and until now, its unsolved. NOW I KNOW YOU LOVE MAKING THEORIES so I would really like to see your theory on this one. There are a lot of theory about them being gods and stuff so this one is really interesting, istg.

Oh yeah that's really weird specially that part where Chef's got that midnight sneaky escapades. Duncan and I followed him like hunters and he was speaking to someone on a talkie about pherines and stuff. He scolded us and told us to not tell a soul especially Chris on one condition we bargained for snacks. That's how I had my stash in the cabin at Wawanakwa. Your video kinda makes it clear to me somehow why Chef would put up wearing clothes that will make Chris happy to lessen any potential "problems". I don't really get it but Chef keeps talking about his past that we eventually thought it was random ramblings. And if you look at the time Chef had to "talk to the network superiors" for his meddling it's really fishy.

Your war idea does kinda tie quite well.The war doesn't get mentioned at all,so it had to happen a long time ago,then it makes sense for Chris to have been forced into it.Perhaps that explains his mentality, see how he specifically likes hurting young adults, young adults which he likely also hurt/killed in that war.So his psychopathic/violent tendencies likely come from past traumatic events that have resurfaced due to the position of power he is now in.

Their dating, the new season intro proves it- Chef inspired Chris and even Carried him and encouraged as you can see in season one, and in season 2 he even tries to ask chef to rent something out for private time in the sherif one with the dear and stuff, and he started slowly becoming insane in season 3 and was fully insane in season 5-
