The director, Paul Verhoeven, said “No.” So Sharon Stone and Rachel Ticotin studied martial arts and helped in choreographing this scene. As someone who works on film fights scenes, sorry but no. Almost exactly the same portion of actress to stunt double shots here as in a modern film. It’s an insurance thing as much as actors being willing or capable, some are some aren’t. That’s why Tom Cruise is a nightmare for productions, and if he wasn’t his own producer he’d never to be able to do as many of his own stunts. They shut down the last MI for god knows how many months after he broke his ankle, money just burned away...

That guy always spoke english with a THICC austrian accent, but his charisma just owns us, we don’t really have an equivalent in 2023. Maybe The Rock is the most similar, but last year showed us his charisma alone can’t lead a movie, unlike Arnold’s.

Never realized before watching this scene, Sharon could have pulled out her gun to kill Rachel Ticotin but instead she takes her on hand-to-hand and once she wins pulls out a shiv to finish her, perfectly fitting her character :) Also was Michael Irons drinking a strawberry milkshake at the start of the video? lol
