The moment when being second best in the world at a marathon race is considered a "loss" - you know you are winning at life.

I can clearly imagine how this one loss impacted his marathon career onwards. Hadn't he lost before, we might probably have not seen a new WR, an attempt to break 2 hours for two times in a row, etc, etc. This clearly proves that if you train your mindset to look on the positive side of the potentially BAD things, you will see how it contributes to your development of your niche/field, whether that would be running, any other sport or even a singing contest.

Eliud's mental strength and positivity almost outshines his physical achievements. Almost as mentally tough as "The Iceman" (Wim Hof). Hey BugattiWeyron, is that a model exclusive to Asian countries? 😉

It's the same case with Uganda's Cheptegei. In 2017, he badly lost the Cross-country in front of his home fans in Uganda, but from there he has been flying high. Had the Olympics been held this year, 2020, Cheptegei would have been a favourite to win the 10k.

I hate running. I used to be a track star before a car wreck that left me in a wheelchair and ultimately not walking unassisted for a year. I watched a video probly a year ago, probly about an Olympic performance, and now this channels videos appear every week in my notifications. For some damn reason, I always watch them. The quality and presentation of your videos is just that good. About something I don't really care about.

He tried in 2012, but didn't qualify on the trials. Those Kenian trials are brutal. And on big championships 5km is after the 10km. So not combining gave him better shot
