This is a brilliant video - thanks for taking the time to make it. Two things that would help further (A) video of all flaps working correctly for reference and (B) an explanation of the function of each coloured arm - I know the green is the demister but unsure on the rest. Thanks again for producing the video - really appreciate your work.

very nice video and explanation. ( nothing negative ) there is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) pdf of this "87 Various HVAC system malfunctions, DTC B11AF07 and/or B109207 stored in the climatronic module or the BCM 1" and the change is "There has been a gradual change to an alternative supplier of the HVAC adjustment motors in production." so VAG,Audi, placed from a crappy supplier a low budget plastic motor in your expensive car. so many things brake down in these expensive cars, these parts are of very low quality.!!

After reinstalling flap motors, you need to calibrate these with VCDS. Otherwise, they wont work properly. Is that right?

Hi, i had a quick question. I bought an audi a4 b7 1.8t 2005 however the ac don't work. I took it to a mechanic and he informed me that there was no ac compressor on the vehicle. So now am looking for a new one which will go on the audi. I need some advise on where to buy one online and how would i know which ac compressor will fit on the car piping system. Thank you
@TotalTechnik4 жыл бұрын
Did he mean that the car was never fitted with an AC compressor, i.e. the car did not have air con at all? Seems odd for a 2005 car! Or did he mean it's physically missing (i.e. been removed and not refitted)? That said, if this was the case the aux belt would not fit. Hi, I have a b8.5 3.0tdi and its a bugger for misting up. I took the scuttle off thinking there would be some soggy leaves there to find that my recirculation flap works in the opposite way to how it should. Have you heard of this? When recirculate is on the flap opens when recirculate is off the flap closes which is where it defaults to. Also when the recirculate is off according to the button the fans are noisier like they would be when recirculate is on. Suggestion that the flap is doing the opposite of what it should. Hi there, I know it’s an old video but on my Audi B6 2004 (54reg) cabriolet I have an issue with getting it to go hot, only on max temperature (HI) will it be warm not hot and generally it initially blows hot for about 10-15 seconds as it feels like there’s a build up of hot air and once the blowers start pushing through it drops to almost cold but can feel a slight bit of warmth , any ideas what motor could be causing the issue? would be a pain to take it apart twice once to diagnose the issue and again to fix it, would like to order a part and do the job all in one day Thanks in advance if your able to reply

Wondering if anyone can help. A4 Cabrio B6, no outside air coming in... With Econ on and recirculation off, it should be drawing fresh air from outside, right? My problem seems to be all vents shut down in this configuration (or the outside air vent doesn't open). In any case, the fan is going full tilt but nothing comes out... As soon as I turn on recirculation, everything opens up no problem...

Are all of these acuators interchangable on the same vehicle.? ( so that I can buy one acuator to check & each acuator by replacing each one in turn. So not buying just the green acuator to check just the green one ) I think its just the potentualmeter resistor thats broken in one, and another, the gearbox skips teeth.
@TotalTechnik4 жыл бұрын
A good question, but I think the answer is likely no. You'd need to get the correct coloured one to replace the same coloured one. You should be able to diagnose which one is faulty quite easily as by playing with the settings you should spot one that does absolutely nothing - if so that's the one to change! Thats the motor gear skipping over the next gear, i think the position sensors ( rheostat ) dirty or damaged. It seems to be a sealed unit inside the motors gearbox so i cant fix mine, except to replace it. The A4B5 uses a similar but different unit. Im getting hot from one dashboard vent, & cold from the other.
@martinee49014 жыл бұрын
I took out all of the actuators & cleaned the rheostats & not much difference. I still get cold non the passenger's side & variable control on the drivers side. Also the intake/recirc flaps not moving. I can get them to move by shorting out or shifting the rheostat but if the red ones plugged in, it simply goes to cold on passenger's side & stays there. If I plug the rear upper/mid/low plug into the red motor I can get it to move into the hot position & then unplug it & leave it like that. It's winter here.

Hmmm. I would guess likely not the motors - but worth looking as you never know (maybe one is sticking rather than faulty). Hmmm, an interesting one. I'd probably be looking towards the high pressure switch as a likely cause in this instance (unless that's what you meant by AC switch?). Hi my climate drivers side is blowing cold air until I put it on a very high temperature, do you have any ideas the passenger side is running fine, I have run test but no fault codes.
@TotalTechnik6 жыл бұрын
Hey there! This may be the yellow motor on the drivers side. You should drop the lower panel down under the steering wheel so you can see the yellow motor, and see what it's doing. You might see that it does not move until you are pushing enough current through it with the high setting. That would be the first thing to check, as that controls hot and cold to the drivers side so that is a likely cause. It should move in line with the rising temp, but you might see it does nothing, and then suddenly starts to move when one highest tempurate. If so, replace it and you should be good to go. You can get them used on eBay for decent money if budget is tight. Hmmm! It could well be one of the flaps is not operating, or partially operating. For the time it takes to run this test, I'd do this first before considering anything bigger. @TotalTechnik4 жыл бұрын
Well, it can be other factors as well, but a quick check on the actions of the climate motors before delving deeper as it is so easy to do and very often is the cause. My climate control unit isn't even lit up, I'm hoping it's a fuse but I'm thinking I have to replace the unit. Any ideas?
@TotalTechnik5 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Take a quick check over your fuses first just in case. If you have to buy a replacment try eBay first for a used one. Hey there! Sorry, but we are not covering the B8 platform right now. We hope to expand and cover additional models in the near future, but this is wholly reliant on the support we receive from our viewers :-) --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! Is this the same as replacing the AC control module? Or is this something different?
@TotalTechnik4 жыл бұрын
No, that would be different. These are just the motors. --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! All my vents blow on my Audi A4 b7 but the center ones are stuck shut

As per the video, change the direction of air flow and watch what happens each time for each motor. You should easioy be able to spot that there is one motor that is doing nothing nomatter what you change. That will be the one to change :-) --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! I don't suppose you know exactly what the motors are called do you? When I'm searching "climate control motor " the results are a part completely different to what you show in the video, it's a big round blower type part that cost around £400
