Guys it's from 1987. Lukes guitar sounds with his dytronics tri-chorus. And his mesa boogie. And his backing vocals. You can hear his voice character is from this period.

There was a young girl Ridin' on the wind She had all of the answers Didn't need to pretend I remember - she was the only friend I ever needed Now I wonder How to work it all out My hands are tremblin' I've got this feelin' now [Bridge:] There's a bit of thunder Pounding in my heart A little uncertainty That's been there from the start Don't tell me all the look you gave Were the ones that I misread 'Cause all I hear now Is a voice inside my head [Chorus:] Could this be love That I hear calling Could this be love That I hear calling Got a fast education Holding you in tears Someone finally hurt you After all these years Got to get my message to you somehow Now you're lookin' in my eyes for courage Too late to think this through Baby There must be somethinbg we can do [Bridge] [Chorus] [Bridge] [Repeat Chorus]

This came from Toto Live in Paris. This the second song on the playlist with opening song being Till the end. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGrbeXioqKaFl6c. I know the house engineer who confirmed this to me. He also confirmed that this was recorded directly off the console. NO OVER DUBS. Not sure how it got out but this is a great post.

This sounds like the 2012 performances of this song (given it is played in a half-step lower, and that Luke uses distorted guitar almost the entire duration)

Joseph sounds a little bit rough, but it does not disfigure him as a singer. He did smoke cigarettes, maybe it had an influence to his voice. Anyway He is stunning!

I bet this one is not from 1987 at all, and I'm not talking about the picture, I'm talking about how it sounds. This one is quite recent.

No, its from 87
@NeglectedField2 жыл бұрын
I agree. They're tuned half a step down, which I don't think they were doing til recently. There's other footage from actual 1987 out there and they were still standard tuned. Also Joe's voice sounds older here.

@NeglectedField2 жыл бұрын
@@jonalindqvist1130 How do you know it's him? It's a live clip which, for the reasons I've outlined, must be a relatively recent performance, in which case it's most likely Simon Phillips or Shannon Forrest on drums.

Who's the leading vocal? Doesn't sound like Joe, more of a mix between Joe en Luke. It's known that Joe lost his voice during the last tour they did, and this doesn't sound like a singer with a frozen voice.

@@kmart3453 nobody will fool around with frequencies to which you tune when it’s about the singer getting an easier time. Half a step is the minimum you downtune. It’s what happens when you press -1 on your digital instruments. If you’re a pro you just play the thing in another key. And 1 lower would be going for example from C major to B major.

This is from 1987, the year they recorded The Seventh One album. Joe lost his voice in early March in 1988. His voice might sound a bit harsh here but he wasn't struggling with vocals in 1987.
