As a city fan, It's totally real, Best defender of the team, out. 2 best midfielders - out. The whole team is unmotivated, OLD and prone to injuries. I'm not glossing over it and I will get hate for it with other city fans - but every game we will be exposed. 5:30 Klopp's Liverpool in 2020/21 didn't just fall apart because Van Dijk was out for the season, but all of their CBs were out for the season. They had Henderson-Fabinho partnership at CB for some games. Fabinho then also got injured for most of the season. Which culminated in Kabak-Phillips duo and ultimately Philipps-Rhys Williams partnerships. Players who aren't even good enough for the Championship. If it was only VVD, Klopp would've managed with Matip-Gomez and Fabinho at DM, but pretty much everything fell apart for LIierpool injury wise.

I genuinely don’t think u can blame Haaland for much. A lot of the creativity that city supposedly have has fizzled out and it’s almost as if Haaland is creating the chances himself. Lyes talked about Haaland hitting the bar as a negative. He made the opportunity for himself and it was tight angle on the spin to get that power and whip was impressive. I really do think with anges system he will get it right with a few more experienced players and abit more time. The system in place is good with a coach who will play that way till his perfected it. How's the Van Dijk injury and Liverpool in 20/21 as a whole comparable to City now? Virg got injured back in GW5 of that season and Liverpool were able to stay top of the league until even after Christmas. Only fell apart when every single CB in the team got injured and Liverpool had to play their only DMs there instead (Hendo and Fabinho). And even they got hurt during the season ffs. Citys squad is old. Half of them are over 30. Bringing Gundogan back was a sign City don't have a plan for the future, a plan to replace these guys. Pep Guardiola is not and has never been a world class manager. He's probably the best coach the sport has ever seen. But as a manager, the guy is nothing special. He can't manage a situation, he can't manage a game. He has the most intricate tactical setup out of any manager this century, but has no plan B, let alone a plan Z. If not every single tiny piece fits right where it's supposed to, the team crumbles. That's why his UCL record doesn't look so good compared to his oeague record, because in the UCL you need to adapt and manage games. Somebody gets injured, figure it out. Your best player is underperforming, no problem, you cam oull a guy off the bench who can go out there and get it done. That's why we have to out respect on guys like Ancelotti. On guys like Mourinho. On guys like Fergie. These guys didn't have all their demands met by the club (they barely even had any demands to begin with), but they found a way to get it done. Ancelotti rolled up with his 3rd choice goalkeeper and 5th choice CB to the Etihad last season and defended for 2 hours. He played Lucas Vasquez, a bang average player, out of position against Bayern at the Allianz and got a result. He puts on Joselu in the 2nd leg, the guy turns into prime Ronaldo for 5 minutes and puts the team in the final.
