If you have a chance, read Frank Wedekind's Original Play "The Awakening of Spring" on which the musical "Spring Awakening" is based. The play has most of the lines that are in the musical. It's funny because a librarian had to get it from the basement of The Fort Wayne Public Library (Allen County Public) for me. She said that it had been put in the banned section in 1952, and had not been checked out for almost 55 years! It's hard to find but beautifly written!

IT IS! :) The Sydney theatre company is putting on a production in February 2010, with a possible tour To be confirmed. Auditions are being held in Sydney @ the end of this month.

They changed this and the Song of Purple Summer when the show was moved to Broadway. This is off-Broadway, which is why the lyrics are the same as the CD. I think they recorded the CD before they moved to the Eugene O'Neill.
