When the DK's AE86 loses in the corners... but wins on the straights! Hey, I saw the once... in Initial D...

Most languages have different words for kinds of time passage effects. I think in English you could say aged or expired for wines, for example. So he gets mad when people say his AE86 is "expiring"

well my mom is also 40 years old and she doesn't like to be called old.
Akira Ferrari yeah you could really see him take advantage of his 86’s suspension setup a lot more than he did the first run, he more or less knew he had the power advantage and cut into corners a lot more to increase his speed out its apparent when seen from the Rally’s 86 for a split second you could see AE86 cut hard into the corner and was already on the power midway through

Wow that gt86 is easily the most touge competent rally car that they've brought to a touge battle and Tsuchiya's ae86 just didn't have the pace to keep up with it's corner entry and at corner exit the ae86 was having trouble putting power down at the cornering speeds required to catch up. But god damn, Tsuchiya was absolutely on it on his last run, he went all out from the start and with pure skill managed to regain that winning gap. That was the master in his element, the rally driver was lucky to get a front row seat to that haha

you are wrong. The name AE-86 has the following meaning. A is for A-engine the family of the engine 86 uses. E means Corolla. 8 means it is the 8th generation and 6 is the variation between the E80 corolla series. hachiroku comes in 2 variants Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno with the only difference being in the headlights. Both are 86s

Most would have use they native tongue over english in most situations

What people seem to forget about rally cars is that they have to obey strict engine and chassis regulations. Put a heavy roll-cage and stock motor on the AE86 like the GT86 has and you would see the AE86 lose by a ton. When it comes to turbo cars, rally cars have intake restrictors to limit the amount of air coming in the engine, of course they gonna lose vs tuned RX7s or S2000s, let alone if they are forced to compete in gravel setup like the Mitsubishi was.
This tells you that modern suspension design & geometry is much better than 30 years ago, especially with those Mcpherson & independant rear suspensions. FRS or BRZ wider body helps & lower center engine too. Amazing comparaison.

I love the sound of the old 86. And it is really fast.
@redlion1454 жыл бұрын
That old AE86 probably has thirty thousand dollars in upgrades done to it. The rally car has to use a stock engine block for class competition purposes. Not saying an AE86 can't be fast, just that it looks so much faster in this video because Drift King has got forged internals, crazy header and exhaust pipes, etc. Not to mention, if both cars were stock, the AE86 would be a couple hundred pounds lighter. As they sit, I imagine the rally car is 50-100 lbs heavier than a stock GT86 because of the roll cage. Big weight difference.
