Went on Tuesday, “20 permit caught on live shrimp. One keeper Redfish on cut mullet. Much rougher seas and more wind. I appreciate and enjoy your videos and also your testimonies, keep it up

A buddy of mine texted me that he saw you fishing Monday. He was one of the "early" boats at then jetty tip. He ended up with 10 Red Drum. 2 were slot and one measured 42 inches!!! Another great video .... way to go Salty and Big John.

i live right in ponce inlet and rarely fish the jetty (partly due to not having a boat) but whats amazing is the amount of redfish you catch. i havent caught a single redfish in years (granted I dont fish as much as ide like) but seeing these fish right in my back yard is amazing. god bless! keep up the great content.

I have seen quite a few fishermen catch Reds right from the 2 piers here in NSB. Plus, Mackerel, flounder, Sheepshead, lots of Mangrove Snapper and even a few grouper...

get to fishing for your health Fadedred, and you might even catch a red from the surf like I did last week. Remember, nothing ventured nothing gained, the Lord might have some red out there just for you

Hey Salty I’m 72 as well, have a KW 186 CC and I’m not ready to stop fishing on the water yet. I hope you and John are doing well and not quitting because of health issues. Keep us posted on your fishing escapades even if it’s from shore.

Hi Terry.. There are 2 main reasons why I am switching to a less strenuous past time. The main reason is that in the blink of an eye..the Lord took the desire out of my heart. I was all set to go.. boat hooked up, fishing gear all loaded and when I walked thru my back gate heading for my SUV, I heard the whisper in my ear.. you are done with this fishing ministry..! And I honestly felt something being removed from my soul. However, I did go fishing several more times and one of those times I suffered a mild heat stroke plus after that had some minor surgery. Time moves on and the boat is up for sale. I had a great decade sharing these fishing adventures and if I were 10 years younger.. would continue but I will leave it up to you to keep the lines tight..

@@racktheslide4711 I’ve seen all your videos I think. I remember when you sold your first boat and got this one. The trolling motor the better than an aquarium videos that I enjoyed so much. Is John going to continue fishing ? I don’t want to hog your time but I’m interested for several reasons. We’re brothers of the hook, Christians and brothers of a war. I arrived in VN Jan 68 and served with the 25 Div 2/27 infantry (wolfhounds) I was wounded August 20, 8 months later. I hope you’re continuing to do well after your surgery. Don’t just drop off map, keep us informed about your next adventures in life.

@@terryballentine3078 Hi Terry, Today, the boat was sold. So I have officially 'moved on'. Yes, I would like to continue to make videos and insert scripture verses but I am struggling with how to put scripture verses in videos about reloading.. and guns. I don't think God and guns will go over too well in this environment we are presently in. I hit VN in late 69-all of 70 and some of 71 when I was sent to Germany. I was in AnKhe.. Camp Radcliff.. in the Central Highlands. I was in communications where I spent a lot of time fixing radios and starlight scopes that you guys broke..LOL. Shoot, I'm so old I can only remember a few of the radios I used to work on.. RT-524's mostly. And those first generation starlight scopes were really cool for their day. But, I often am thankful.. that we fought in Nam and not in Afghanistan or Iraq. Give me the jungle.. you can keep that hot gritty desert environment. Thank you for your service. We kept a country FREE for a decade. A couple years ago, my son went to see where his dad fought in the war and the pictures he brought back showed me that poverty and rice paddies and water buffaloes were still the norm and the bigger cities were just dirty and packed as it was when I was there with fewer bicycles and rickshaws and these tiny motor bikes were everywhere. My son hated his visit there and couldn't wait to leave. Now, go catch some fish..!
@terryballentine30783 жыл бұрын
@@SaltyKayak Those scopes were a hate/love relationship. I hated turning them on when we were sitting up ambushes. I just knew the whining warm up could be heard for miles lol, of course I loved the grainy (extra) vision at night they offered. My first Lt visited me a couple of times and told me I was the only one he remembered arriving in his platoon. He said he always ask where the new guys were from and I told him the okeefenokee swamp instead of a city and state. I did make buck in short time and thought he was going to say I was such a good soldier, sure popped my bubble. I live in Waycross Ga, the pathway to the okeefenokee and have fished the swamp many times, I even worked there on weekends as a tourist boat guide when I was in HS. I felt right at home in VN, you’re right about the desert, not for me. We had prick 25’s radios although I never carried one. Is John continuing to fish ? Life has many stages and I wish you the best with your new adventure.

Those multi spot reds are pretty. It’s crazy how they don’t have a set number of spots like black drum are with their stripes. You never see a black drum with 10 stripes or a speckled trout with no specks but the spots on red drum often vary.

We went out to reef #3 today looking for Spades.. only had one Spade hookup but it spit the hook...saw plenty. Water was a soupy green from the top to the bottom. We caught a couple keeper Vermilion, John caught an 18" Lane and I caught a 30"RS plus we both caught lots of smaller RS.

Thanks for your great videos. I'm buying a boat next month. What size is your boat? I does well offshore.
@SaltyKayak4 жыл бұрын
Hi Spartan76.. my boat is a Key West 186 BR (Bay Reef). It's overall length is right around 20' but the boat itself is 18' 6". And just to let you know.. Next month, I will be putting my boat and all my fishing stuff (anchors, poles, reels, shrimp nets and lights, GPS trolling motor.. pretty much everything) because, at 72 years old, it's time to just do some fishing from shore and let you younger fellas pull up the thugs..

@@SaltyKayak Thanks for your reply, I will miss your offshore videos. My wife and I have really enjoyed them. I have fished offshore for the past 18 years out of Ponce and Matanzas inlet. I know it can really be demanding on the body. Surfing fishing can be a lot of fun. Good luck and thanks again.
