Thank you Laura, for this wonderful visit to the chapel at the mount, I was raised in Esopus, and it’s been many years since I have been in the chapel and I enjoys the history of this holy place. Thank you thank you.

I am so heartened that this beautiful Catholic church is still being used for worship. As a former Catholic I am I somewhat saddened that it no longer functions as a Catholic sacred space but it couldn't have fallen into more reverential hands than the Bruderhof! Thank you for having your pastor give the very informative educational tour of the many architectural and religious artifacts and murals. The stained glass dome is exquisite. I will watch it again as there is so much to savor. Thank the Bruderhof for their devoted caretaking of this chapel. Happy Easter to you, your family and the Bruderhof community.

What a beautiful church! As a Catholic, I must say I feel a bit sad to see it no longer used for Catholic worship. But I very much appreciate your respectful attitude and loving care for the building.

I second this. I would love for it to be used in regular services, no matter what denomination. I am glad to hear that it is still used in that capacity sometimes. It is a sacred, beautiful place built to glorify God and our Saviour. :)

Such a fun video. As a guy who grew up catholic in the area I am elated to know that it is being used to worship and to celebrate our God. Believe it or not, despite all the work I've been apart of on the property, I haven't seen the inside since I was 16. I've been invited, but never made the time. That's clearly on me lol. But it is beautiful. Another stellar vid.

Hi Laura! Wonderful to see you. Do you think one day you could do a tour of the Mount community’s main building? I’d love to see how you utilise the space. Thanks x

Gorgeous, gorgeous space. It's nice to know those of the Bruderhof are good friends of us Catholics... and although it initially pained me to see the altars of Mary and Joseph empty, I was shortly thereafter delighted to see how the virtues and angels are honored and beloved by your community. It looks like this gem of the Redemptorists is in good hands :) God bless you!

Why would Mary and Joseph have an altar? They’re not our savior. They did not die on the cross for our sins and rise from the dead after three days. Mary and Joseph will not help with your eternal salvation.
@Lb00gie90 Жыл бұрын
@aspenenglish4976 I use the word "altar" here loosely, as the altar of the Eucharist is distinct from those of Mary and Joseph. To put it simply, I'd say that Mary was the first dwelling-place of God in salvation history, and that is special. No, she won't save us, but she sure could help. Jesus shares his momma with us. May the love of Jesus always wrap you up, my brother/sister in the risen Lord!

Thank you for looking after it. Our Catholic church has lost so much property including all that was stolen by Henry VIII in the UK in the reformation. At least this is still being used for Christian worship.

I saw that Pelican, I could have sworn it was you were in Louisiana, the state bird. Alphonso, said to be the sweetest bestest mango from India. Years ago, we had good mangoes, but all the stores started bringing in mangoes you'd think they were made in a factory. Where some will buy a mango because its a mango. Where I gave up. I have to go to Asian stores or Indian stores to get a mango worth a darn from Mexico. 😂

Gorgeous church, a real treasure, and so well preserved. But a stained glass picture of God the Father, who, according to the Bible that Catholics spend so much effort to revere, no one can see and no images are to be made of?? I've never understood how Catholics can so blatantly, willfully, deliberately contradict the scriptures they claim to know and love. This is just one small example.
