On a ducati(V4/V4S/V4R/Streetfighter V4/V4S) you would ONLY get 110 miles before running dry and the hayabusa can easily get another 70 miles more than those ducati's !! Not to mention that NONE of those ducati's have cruise control or even a gas gauge. Such a shame, but hopefully the engineers at Ducati can become more intelligent about adding such 'luxury' items since the bikes are at least 30% costlier(and double that in maintenance) more than the hayabusa ! Lastly, no one can even think about the fact that the reliability of Suzuki and parts network is vastly superior to the ducati/BMW....

Thanks guys. I enjoyed that so much, a route I know well from my BMW R65 days. A great ride, and yes! You've done a great sales job on the Hayabusa. I've always loved the look of them (really don't get why people don't rate their looks, to me they are beautifull) and when I get a bit of money to get another bike a Hayabusa is high on the list if not at the top. In fact it is a definite toss up between a BMW 1250 RT and a Hayabusa. Which is an odd choice because they are the antithesis of each other in some ways, but at 6'2" I need a big bike with plenty of power. I actually believe that the more power you have the safer because you are much more relaxed plus for me, the most dangerous point of motorcycling is how long you are exposed for during an overtake. I'll never forget the most terrifying moment in my motorcycling days was when I took my girlfriend on the back of my Kwaka ZZR1100 and went for an overtake, I misjudged the effect of having a pillion and didn't accelerate as quickly as I was used to and narrowly missed getting squished by an oncoming car when sosl I would have been well clear. But it always made me think that it's how quickly you can overtake that gives you safety so underpowered bikes are not safe because they may have the top speed but not the grunt to get passed a car quickly and safely and then settle back down again. Thanks again for a great ride.

Glad to see you can ride the Busa sensibly and still really enjoy it and have plenty in reserve for those mad moments. The lack of pannier option is a really bad choice by Suzuki as the bike is really suited to long distance rides. It seems the engine doesn't have much character though other than going effortlessly smooth throughout the whole rev range. I'll loved my old K1200S because it used to get snarly and vibey above 4500 rpm and let you know it was in party mode. It had hidden pannier mounts as well with expandable sport panniers.
@annon-ski79852 жыл бұрын
The engine's character is its supernatural torque wave,( Its defining feature ) doesn't get any better than that, Vibrations, no thank you, I am sure it will snarl with an exhaust.
@stevecade8572 жыл бұрын
@@annon-ski7985Super smooth throughout the rev range doesn't work for me as I ride where the bike feels comfortable in engine feel. My RGV250 wasn't really happy until it was doing 70 mph+ and a Blackbird I test rode was so easy to ride at 90 mph+ it would get me into serious trouble without much effort. I guess the Busa plays in the same garden. The K12 though had a definite change in character as the exhaust valve opened. Vibey was maybe a poor choice of word but it definitely had a gruffer edge to it that let you know you it was party time. That 4500 rpm in top was around 70-75 mph, if I remember right, so was great for riding the smooth grunty bottom end in relaxed mode. My problem is I can't trust myself with bikes that have engines like the Busa, Blackbird, ZX14 etc as that sweet spot is so easy to get to and so fast for public roads.
