Apologies if the text is hard to read against this particular background - I didn't notice it at first (I was too focused on the a e s t h e t i c) but I can definitely see that it might be distracting for some people. I've taken note for future videos!

Thanks so much for creating this wonderful presentation ❤️ I'm 56 right now and discovered the Moomins when I was a child - while still living in Poland. They remained my favorite books, ever. For over 30 years now - I live in Canada and the Moomins books are here with me. Just on Friday we were at our summer's cottage and since it was the Midsummer night - I made sure that our place looked extra magical, with lots of twinkle lights and lanterns. We have this wonderful place, about 75 km away from the city, where we are surrounded by forests and have this beautiful fresh water stream going through our property. The forest is alive with all kinds of animals and many of them (raccoons, chipmunks, skunks) visit us. I think that I know how Tove must have felt when she was spending her summers so close to nature. Her stories and her illustrations brought into my life a real sense of magic and really shaped how I interact with nature and how I always try to make my surroundings magical and a bit unreal.. I think Tove and I have lots in common. Both of us are Leos born in August and I also went to an art school - mind you I'm not that talented😁 Both of us have a very sensitive nature. Tove had such a multi-layered personality - looks like she was a very kind person and lived her life to the fullest, despite some limitations in people's minds, at her times. Thanks again and I will follow your channel. Greetings from Ontario 🤗

It makes me immensely happy as a Finnish person to see you bring forward not only the Moomins but the entire context and Tove herself! Just wondering why you chose to make it in a more text-y format lilke this?

In the series we want to see lesbians everywhere even in harmless children's books which as such should not orientate in any way. 😅 It seems a "miracle" that I, despite Peter Rabbit and the comics in the Christian family magazine, have grown up a lesbian and happy! 😱
@SapphicUnderground2 жыл бұрын
What do you mean? Tove Jansson based a character on one of her partners who inspired her to write another book and her other work contains allegories about the relationships that she had with women. This isn't seeing things that aren't there, she put herself and the women she loved into her work. Lesbianism also belongs in children's books, the same way that heterosexual relationships are shown in children's book, as long as its age appropriate, there's no difference between the two.
