I made True Romance together with my roommate Tim From The House. We both had a need to write something different and dramatic. It took me three days to get the lyrics right but I recorded it in one take. The lyrics are based on the movie True Romance, destructive cinematic love at its best and worst. We shot this scene for it in one take in the desert earlier this year. Kenny Laubbacher has always captured the emotional journey of the song perfectly in this scene. 💣🔨

Yeah, I how it escalates and she pushes her voice to almost cracking. Not something you want to do live or do too often or for any kind of long duration. It's actually damaging and dangerous to a singer if they do it for too long or try too hard. But the way she gets to a rasp and hits her vocal limit, almost screaming it out, really matches the angst and escalation of the movie. It's a brutal flick and she gives it what it deserves, like nobody ever could. She really couldn't have done it any better than this, it's so passionate and raw. Goosebumps.
