@stevenxiaofenghuang2 ай бұрын
There is a reason why the religion about Jesus or Yeshua (or however you call him) never get much influences in the oriental countries, because these nations have a history of resisting Roman religious influences and also those religious influences of Roman cultural offsprings. Calling a man that is born of a woman, that walks among humans, calling him creator of all things, a oriental person needs to sniff in a lot of o p ium to take that serious. If ye say it’s just a legend, that’s more like it. We have a novel called Journey to the West, with the character Monkey King, he has a title for himself, called The Great Holy One Equal To Heaven. Yeah, JC is pretty much the same stuff. What of Torah clicks with the oriental mind? Morals, purpose, clarity, wisdom, guidance, that’s what impress the oriental mind. And Torah has lots of that good stuff.

This video by Rabbi Singer summarizes my core beliefs about the Jesus story. The writer of Mark is the earliest Gospel. About half of this Gospel uses earlier stories about a man named Jesus (in English). Then the other half of the Gospel has the writer of Mark put in commentary which comes from Paul. Even in Mark the new religion from Paul is beginning to dominate. In addition, with Matthew’s and Luke’s Gospels, Paul’s influence, (as well as from Greek/Roman paganism), increases. By the last Gospel, attributed to John, the dominance of Paul and Greek/Roman paganism is complete.

The term "the written Torah" in a general sense refers to the whole body of the twenty-four Books of the Hebrew Bible. Its essence, however, is the Pentateuch, for it alone contains all of the Divine precepts, and nothing may be added and nothing may be subtracted from it. Even genuine prophets cannot alter anything in the Pentateuch. Indeed, all later prophets or prophecies are verified by their complete conformity to the Pentateuch. It is the ultimate criterion: the falsehood of a prophet or prophecy is established by even the slightest divergence from the original words of the Pentateuch.

" Here come the Jews" at 2-20 , don't forget that Yeshua and his mostly teenage diciples were Jews through and through. Is this an enthnic based commentary?. Yeshua's diciples were nomads ,continuously on the road and in some cases on the run, they lived hand to mouth on charity. When the Gospels say hunger, it doesn't mean peckish, it would mean a clear and present danger to succumbing to fainting. And 2000 years ago when medicine was near defunct.,eating wheat straight from the field would indicate the severity of need. It is not as if they harvested, ground, baked and made bread out of it. Eating straight from the field would indicate a severe need for nourishment on the road at the first opportunity. That would clearly indicate an emergency. At no point did this mean that Yeshua threw away the integrity of Shabbos, Yeshua was a religious critic of his time and thus a threat to the high and mighty Pharisees who enjoyed their positions of power and authority, it was understandable that they would challenge Yeshua at every opportunity, they did not like him, pursuing him and challenging him and his diciples even while they starved for want of food.. you correctly supposed that later Christian writers and interpreters did that Yeshua threw away Shabbos. Yeshua would have observed Shabbos diligently like every other Jew at the time. Look, three times, you mentioned "here come the Jews".

The Church elevated JeBus to deity status following the example of honors bestowed on Caesar and Augustus, and a long tradition of demi-gods in the Greco-Roman culture. This is what people of the empire wanted. This is what they got. There is nothing in the New Testament about it, because it preceded the invention of the Trinitarian doctrine. It is only in the 4th century (300s) that the doctrine found its way to the Nicene Creed of 325 CE. Even so, the Arians would have none of it, and they did not go away following the First Council. Arianism persisted, especially amongst Vandals and Visigoths of North Africa until it was subsumed by Islam eventually.

And it's Achimelech who Doeg fingers to Shaul HaMelech and has to give an accounting of aiding Dovid. It's only after this episode when Aviaser escapes Nov and joins Dovid, do we see that he assumes the leadership mantle of Cohen Gadol? @@cheryldeboissiere1851 *_GayZEUS_* of the Synoptic Gospels is a literary character invented by the Romans to promote the recent arrival of the Flavian dynasty to imperial power, creating an archetype of messiah towards which all preexisting Jewish prophecies converged. The aim was (1) to empty Jewish concepts, hijacking the messianic hope and solidifying a controversial archetype of Jewish messiah, (2) to blame the Jews for their own destruction in the war of Jerusalem in 70 and (3) to exalt the Flavian dynasty of emperors. The content of the message propagated by the characters in the narrative portrays an agenda of political accommodation, preservation of the imperial “status quo”, anti-Judaism and military indoctrination: both for Roman soldiers and for colonized civilians. Soldiers are often the recipients of the teachings of the Gospels, which occur both explicitly (as in Luke 3:14, when John the Baptist recommends that soldiers be content with their pay, just as Rome advised those recruited for military service) and implicitly (as in Luke 9:23, when the instruction is given to abandon everything - family, friends, work - and follow the leader, just as the government wanted the soldiers to do). There is also abundant teaching reinforcing the civil obligation to serve soldiers, including obeying them for twice the amount required (Matthew 5:41). The character Jesus always presents himself as the reformer of the Law of Moses (Matthew 5:38, correcting Exodus 21:24 on the principle of “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”) and the propagator of various Roman laws (as in Mark 10:12 on marriage and in Matthew 22:21 recommending the payment of taxes). Jesus never taught his disciples to love Jews or their relatives, but he *_did teach them to love Romans (Matt. 5:44) and to turn the other cheek (Matt. 5:39). The Flavian Theory, therefore, not only presents a coherent argument for the literary origins of Jesus, but also highlights the Romans' ability to use religion as a tool of sociopolitical control. *_Some of the most enigmatic passages found in the gospels are more easily understood when seen through the eyes of a general speaking to his legions._*

So. becoming of the Christ is it worthwhile considering he was irrelevant. The day they did it may have been just another case of insubordination on top of the other transgressions which added to the case. Behold why do they do on the Sabbaths [plural] that which is not lawful [any time]? The Son of Man and the Son of God are two different conditions. 5:39). It makes a lot of sense and they have what seems to be some compelling evidence. It also explains the ridiculous and frequent defenses of the Roman empire, instructions to pay taxes, etc. that stick out like a sore thumb in the Gospels. The Nicene Council in 325 CE was clearly a significant step toward the establishment of the modern church, but I don't think it was the starting point of the scam. It seems people were knowingly lying long before then. Fascinating that the Roman empire itself may have been behind the creation of Christianity (obviously this is the opposite of the "persecution" narrative that was popularized for millenia).*

For example if the 8th day falls on sabbath, they are okay to break sabbath but going ahead with circumcision. Or if their donkey falls in a ditch they are okay to break sabbath. Jesus even pointed to what David did in 1 Samuel 21:1-6 when he broke command and ate consecrated bread not permitted to be eaten by anyone but the priest. Jesus usee a commonsense approach. 2. Throughout the Tanakh Hashem has repeatedly focused on the heart and attitudes and intentions. You can offer all the sacrifices but if you oppress the widow or orphans Hashem will not be pleased. Your intentions and actions in regard to God and your neighnour matters. Yeshua calls you to do both.

There the pastors say some bs about the New Testament 99% of the time and then when they do talk about the Old Testament it’s passages that have been mistranslated like Isaiah ‘the virgin shall give birth’. By that time they’ve heard of hell, and Jesus saying many false teachers will come don’t listen to them, but at the same time Paul saying be ready to argue your belief. If they weren’t born into a family of Christian’s they just hear the New Testament first and read it into the Old Testament. Now if they reject it they think they will go to hell. Is picking single grains really work? It's not like harvesting. More like going to the fridge which also requires opening the fridge door and closing it again. And what I know from orthodox Jews, this is not forbidden as long as the light stays switched off. For that reason I do think that some of the rules concerning Sabbath are exaggerated and it's this what Jesus was addressing. Sabbath is a day of rest, not of causing stress for silly things like picking grains or suffer quietly when one is hungry in a field full of grains. I agree with most of what Rabbi Tovia Singer is teaching, but some things do make me wonder.
@AdaraBalabusta2 ай бұрын
We do not harvest-even a “little bit”-on Shabbat. We gather what we need beforehand. I, for one, was gobsmacked when I first read of the prep needed for Shabbat. Now, preparing for Shabbat is my second-favorite thing to do. Righteous Gentiles may harvest at will on any day of the year.
@rightousliving2 ай бұрын
@ it’s all a matter of interpretation. Getting things out of the fridge could also be considered harvesting “little bit”. The commandment is about not to work. Harvesting is work where you pick fruit not for eating now but as part of a labour force. Picking grains for immediate consumption is the same as taking food out of the fridge. There’s no real difference. I’m not sure if some food you eat is wrapped up or in a pot with a lid to protect it from getting spoiled. Unwrapping it or lifting the lid is kind of work. Should it be forbidden. You can see how ridiculous this can get. And some rules are ridiculous in my opinion and it’s exactly that what Jesus was addressing. I don’t believe the Torah forbids to pick an apple from a tree if you eat it right away, but you should not harvest apples for storage.

I interpreted the words, "Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath" very simply. First and foremost, son of man, does NOT mean Jesus, it means all humans; it is a direct translation of the Hebrew term, ben adom. Human life is superior to observing the sabbath. This is straight Jewish Law, if life is endangered, we violate the sabbath. As Rabbi Singer noted, Jesus gave a reasonable answer as to why he violated the sabbath; he was deathly hungry like King David. Therefore it is idiocy to understand, "Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath", to mean Jesus eliminated sabbath observance.

I see Jesus's response in Mark 2 in some ways similiar, but in other ways differently. I think Jesus used David example as an example that the Pharisees would understand, so your argument about the Oral Torah makes sense. However, I think He was trying to teach them how Pharisees should approach teaching others how to keep the Sabbath. They should approach it as God giving us the Sabbath as a gift to us to rest for our labor and pay respect to Him. If they did so, they wouldn't have been so quick to chastise Jesus and considered that He could be poor or destitute, or something else. Hence, Him saying that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. And why Jesus quoted Hosea in that God desires mercy and not sacrifice in another telling of the story in Matthew 12.

@@samfromisrael Interesting stuff, but I would prefer to think that the early Christians wanted to separate Earthly and Heavenly authority: "owe to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, owe to G-d what belongs to G-d". To Pontius Pilatus he said "My Kingdom is not of this world" showing that the early Christians did not want to challenge the existing Roman civil authority by revolting like ,say, the Zealots. "I am a king" ,but not of this world. The Christians believed there is life after death and that the end of this world will occur when the Kingdom of G-d (which is now in the heavens) will descend to Earth with its capitol at Jerusalem. Jesus will then judge all the Nations and the tribes of Israel and Christians will form a priesthood. There will be a new cosmos and a new Earth. Even Jesus told Peter to put away his sword for my kingdom is not from hence, but IF my kingdom were of this world THEN my followers would fight. So Jesus was an absolute pacifist, even going to his death without fighting back. Very few people (including myself) can restrain ourselves from fighting back when we are attacked. God Almighty says : * Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no God (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One God -Allah . And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them *. (Quran)(The Last Testament )

I do not accept the Qu’Ran. We worship the same G’d, albeit in different ways, and I honor you as a fellow child of Abraham. Salaam.

Como então eu orei "em nome de Jesus" e fui curado da depressão?
@janishart51282 ай бұрын
The mind is a strange thing, that is not yet fully understood. Sometimes if you want something badly enough, the body will comply. When my daughters were young and they complained of 'not feeling well', I would say to them that women in OUR (my husband's surname) family, don't get sick (without having prayed for them, as an Evangelical Christian!)! They would soon feel better, and that was that! Meanwhile, my husband's brother's kids were always sick!! So, I don't know - the power of positive thinking maybe?! It was definitely NOT the "Jesus" character who healed you, since God specifically said that there is NO OTHER savior, and that we are to pray ONLY to Him (plus, the "Jesus" character actually had no such 'powers'.

Indeed, Christ was a Sabbath keeper. So were the early Christians. Many Christians still keep the Sabbath today. He is the Lord of the Sabbath, not Sunday.

*_GayZEUS_* of the Synoptic Gospels is a literary character invented by the Romans to promote the recent arrival of the Flavian dynasty to imperial power, creating an archetype of messiah towards which all preexisting Jewish prophecies converged.
