@@janishart5128 Very true, “Matthew” tries to explain it by saying that John the Baptiser was Elijah, but in reality he was not. “John” has him admitting that he is not Elijah or a prophet. This was likely because the author of John had an agenda and wanted Jesus to be incredibly exalted and above all human things. Hence there is no baptism or transfiguration in John. According to “John”, Jesus didn’t need to be preceded by Elijah. Also in John, Jesus disrespects his mother, which is one of the 10 Commandments. So much for being ‘sinless’

Excellent video! I myself have recently returned to the G-D of Israel and have left it all behind in regards to the beliefs I was raised with. We were raised Catholic, then Christian .. then Messianic Jews. We are of Sephardic Jewish roots so this was where we felt most comfortable and like we are almost home. We are to be a light 💡 onto the nations and also in our personal circles. This is part of our mission! We met him over 20 years ago as we began our journey from secular Jews to Torah Judaism at a Shabbaton from Gateways. He had us mezmerized with his vast knowledge and he knocked our socks off with his knowledge of the xian scriptures which he could juxtapose, verse by verse, against the Hebrew scriptures. There were other excellent rebbeim speaking but he was special. A few others and my husband and I stayed up until 2, 3, 4 am speaking to him after his lecture. We then became his groupies and sang his praises to everyone. Then we found his videos a few years later and we watch him all of the time. Three connections...my husband attended Rabbi Tovia Singer's father's yeshiva for a few years after we met Tovia.and then our youngest daughter roomed with Rabbi Singer's daughter when they were at Bar Ilan in Israel almost 20 years ago.

@Original O.G. Troll: That's where you're wrong (well, one of the places!)! Once a Jew converts to ANY OTHER religion, they are NO LONGER considered by the Jewish community to be Jewish. They are, however always welcome to RENOUNCE the false religion they became part of, confess that sin to God, repent of that sin i.e. promise never to repeat the sin) and ask God for His forgiveness. They will then be welcomed back into the Jewish community with open arms. Should he desire to turn to the path of iniquity, the choice is his. This is the intent of the Torah's statement: "Behold, man has become like the Unique One among us, knowing good and bad." This teaches that humankind was made singular in the world, in that a person can, on his own initiative, objectively think about and know what is good and what is bad, and then choose to act according to his own will.

Or were they fictional characters? I mean... There are 3 possibilities as I can see on the Bible: 1) Metaphors (Like, for example, some scholars say Adam and Eve story is metaphor, same as the Biblical exodus, you know, when the people of God struggled in the dessert 40 years according to the Bible. 2) A mix of metaphors, fictional characters placed in real places and historical events in time. 3) The third possibility, everything was literal, everything was literal and the hebrew Bible is actually a historical book. As a Jew, personally I believe that they did exist. I believe that while the events described in the Torah aren't all exactly 1:1 in historical reality (the choice of language the Torah uses in various occurrences is very interesting), they by and large did happen and the people were real. I don't know if it will ever be possible to get 100% proof for everyone, but archeological discoveries are made all the time in Israel, and we know a lot more than we did 100 years ago, and probably know a lot more 100 years from now.
