These lowlifes do this because there is no downside. The most they receive is a slap on the wrist and then they go right back to committing the same crimes. Give that tow operator five years on a first offense with a subsequent doubling of sentence for each further conviction and he will never do it again. Give the public the legal ability to cut off private boots and shut off tow trucks, drop and unhitch their own cars, or cut the tow from their cars with impunity as long as the tow operator is wrong, and illegal towing will go away.

The apartment complex *plans* to give the tow company the boot. The apartment should have already fired the tow company. The landlord doesn't realize the tow company is taking rent money out of it's hands: if you are late on rent, you will pay the tow company first to get your car back.

I visited one in the late 90s, and the full 30, 40 minutes I was there, there was a hook, and a rollback, on the property, sometimes circling around. And they also had a young porter out "catching speeders". The leasing rep told me "If you speed on our property, we'll fine you."

I got towed from an apartment complex with the "visitor parking" sign literally next to my car with an arrow pointing to the row I was parked in. Every other spot had "visitor parking" painted on the ground but I was told the one right next to the sign did not have it painted....yet...and that was enough for them to tow😅

i hate tow tucks that do this. i went to look at a place to rent for my niece. closer to her work one day. while the manager and i was looking at the apartment. my truck got towed. i was legally parked in the visitor parking spot. the manager called them they said yes they took it. she made them bring it back but refused to release it to me with out giving them $225 for towing and $225 for bringing it back. and another $75 for paperwork. this was way before there was to many videos. i ask the manager who was going to pay for this and she said she wasn't that i would have to i turned to the wrecker driver and told him $525 right. he said YEP. i told him bail would most likely be $225 so i will take bailing out of jail before i paid him and he went to the hospital i unhooked my truck and drove off and never did hear anything from john law. needless to say my niece didn't rent from them.

I thought it was illegal to tow a car when some on was inside the car. It's a liability,no? I mean everytime my car gets towed(in my own apartments twice now) I get pissed cuz that's almost 300 dollars Depending on the day I gotta get to work, I gotta get home, and what now?
